I expect Shepp to be fired and a trade as early as today

Has Shep been stripped of play calling yet?

Forget Superbowl, merely making the playoffs will be a tall task. You have the 4 division winners then the 2nd and 3rd place NFC West teams will likely gobble up two of the wild cards. That leaves the Lions against like 4-5 teams for one spot unless there’s somebody who thinks that the Lions could win the division, I’m not one of those people.

He has shown he will in the past

Yeah Shep wont get fired, but solid shot he gets stripped of Playcalling duties.

This offseason gonna be interesting, bigger fire under Dans and Brads Ass to fix this defense. We know when they put to it, they do go out and fix stuff (Like the trench’s this offseason). Expect similar this offseason

I do not believe Detroit will win the division. I have it.

  1. Bears
  2. Vikings
  3. Lions
  4. Packers

But their schedule is soft and so they could make the playoffs. A team like Miami is close to a bye week.

I got Vikings first.

IMO if you’re a Lions fan you don’t want to win this weekend, if they don’t fire Shep and trade for a corner this week. A win means they will take being 3-2 going into the bye. A loss means the probability of them making changes goes from 10% to at least 50%.

Who would take over?

I wasn’t exactly heartbroken that Carolina won. My 2nd team. And they don’t play act like they’re gangsters with preconceived lame acts. Far more genuine acts of elation.

Kacy Rodgers maybe? his unit is the only one thats been performing at this point of time (DLine has not been the issue)

He also was the Dline coach for the Bucs from 2019-2024 and was instrumental in the development of that line. Hes got coaching experience and i wouldnt mind him taking playcalling just to see how he looks at this point, cause there really is nothing to lose.

EDIT: He was also DC for the Jets back from 2015 to 2018

Right. You start looking at the room and realize there are a lot of guys who are quite possibly over-promoted at this point, beyond just Shep. Corrao and SDH in particular.

Kacy and O-Neil you would like to think could hold their own given their experience in coaching, but then why aren’t they contributing more now, even from their current roles? Kacy’s the Run Game Coordinator and O’Neil is an Assistant Head Coach.

Someone needs to add Assistant Defensive Coordinator to their title and step up.

It really is incredible. Usually you see coaching staffs improve over time with successful teams

The degradation of this staff is such a Lions thing. Only in Detroit

They got in their own little “not everyone can play for Detroit” bubble like they had answers the rest of the league didn’t.

Oops.

People keep asking this but I think the answer is does it really matter? It can’t get worse. Fire the guy…at least show that what has gone on isn’t acceptable.

Honestly, yeah ■■■■ it. Fire Shep, put Kacy Rodgers in as Internim DC

Literally cant get worse then it is, only way is up for this unit. If its below average, this team is a playoff team even if its not a good one.

For practical purposes I expect Sheppard to get one more game next week, and then at the bye they make a change, whether demotion/firing whatever. They can’t just let this continue, the season just started!

Warm memories of lion seasons past where we are out before Halloween… well, lose to AZ and come out of the bye and lose to GB, that’s probably gonna be it.

I have lions dead last at this point. Green bay is better. And they have our number last few games. Minnesota is going to kill Goff

Ehhh I think the Packers are worse overall, but Lions are firmly third rn in the division.
