The Lions went from 15-2 to 8-8 after trading away Tim Patrick.

We collapsed because we traded a 3rd round pick for a 4th round pick and used it to draft Manu.
It’s clearly the reason why we aren’t in the SB.
I get that this is a joke, but trading Patrick away was a symptom of the main problem this year, which can be summed up neatly as “we’re good”. It was only a small problem compared to all the more important things that went wrong, but we could have done with Patrick as a run blocker and reliable option for Goff to throw to this season, while TeSlaa developed behind him.
We were not good, and the thinking behind the decision to trade Patrick is exactly why we were not good. We did not have all the answers that we thought we did.
Trading Patrick is a symptom of nothing.
If Tim Patrick gained 100 pounds and could play offensive line then we should have kept him. It’s not that hard to gain 100 pounds in one offseason.

We had a losing record after St. did his dance in Washington. I figured that was it.
Boy am I glad we gave Teslaa those snaps.
Say what you want about cost to acquire him but he does appear to be trending up for next year.
If we can get IOL and weapons continue to grow this offense can be better.
Sorry, I realize this thread was facetious so let me get back on track. I heard Starbucks near Allen park closed so DC has been coaching on no caffeine.
He looks like a stud to me. So does Tate. Tyleik played less well than I had hoped but I’m still very optimistic about him being an above average starter. I thought considering what he had to deal with as a rookie there is reason for optimism with Frazier as well.
I think 2025 is likely to end up being a fine draft. The 2021-2023 run has skewed expectations a bit IMO.
That explains it. Caffeine withdrawal is no joke.
Yup. Teslaa is awesome. That’s the main “problem” with keeping Patrick around.
That shit sneaks up on you…it aint no joke.
Let’s talk about the real issue. I wore white pants after labor day. The team went to ish after that.
The universe looking at my style decision:

Its telling you wear long legged pants
Greenbay has nothing going . Our greatest show on turf got beaten by a kicker quarterback
It’s because all of a sudden the Pistons and Red Wings got good and the Tigers snuck in the playoffs so somebody had to crap the bed cuz you just can’t have all four of them good at the same time
I agree
We’ve really only had one bad draft during this resume and that was 2024. That draft was horrific though.
Games with Kirby Joseph = 4-2
Games without Kirby Joseph = 4-6.
To be determined. TA takes a jump and becomes a CB1 and Mahogs rounds into a good starter that’s a fairly average return on the top end. Back end is probably always going to be light. But we got Hatten as a UDFA and Bates as something adjacent to that. Vaki would almost definitely be a damn near ST star if he could ever stay healthy.
Even in rosy scenarios it won’t be a great draft. No disagreement therr. Where exactly it lands remains to be determined. I was never an Ennis fan personally. But he had many fans that no ball better than I do.
If he stays healthy and becomes a starting level nickel or outside CB then that changes the draft.
Lastly, I’m not going to ignore that the weakest draft was when we were hosting the draft. Which I assume entails a lot of extra work and throws off the routine.
Can somebody tell me if goff is good in changing plays in the line , I don’t see anything special in Goff ..More concerning is the mistakes he makes when we keep opponents under 20 points
Golf is very good at changing place at the line… He is as good as it gets, with pre-snap action, reads, adjustments, detecting tells, hard count, etc.
What’s going on here is mostly just a lack of talent on the offensive line, mostly due to injury plus Ragnow.
Golf is amazing when protected, but he is one of the most old line codependent quarterbacks you’ll see
