I’m not mad. I’m disappointed

Let me explain.

Many of us here are understandably pissed. We entered today 8-2, and to use ARSB brother’s comment, felt the Lions were a bit “suspect.”

Today’s loss confirmed every single fear we had leading up to game time.

It’s one thing to be a middling team with little expectations. But we got embarrassed on national television after the media and fan hype train crowned us with something we didn’t earn.

It’s humiliating,

I’m humiliated as a Lions fan. You should be, too.

We don’t look bad. We didn’t have an off game. We simply looked like we didn’t belong on the field.

At 8-2, the Lions had raised our expectations and given us TRUE hope. And the last few weeks have made us question whether it was fools’ gold.

Today was the opposite of validation.

It’s an absolute possibility that this team isn’t nearly as good as its record and shrugging this off, to me, is lunacy.

So today, yes, I’m angry. But I’m also sad. I’m disappointed. We deserve better. We put ourselves out there and what we are seeing is … potentially … one of the most historic disappointments that this franchise has made us endure.

Disappointed? Absolutely! Discouraged/Disappointed? Nope. Every team will have 3-4 off games a year. After a big come from behind emotional win against the Bears, I’m not shocked.
I expect the Lions to finish with 11-12 wins and a home PO victory. In year 3 of total rebuild, call me pleasantly surprised.
Drop the emotions of game day, and we can the amazing progress from the depths of Patricia/Quinn.

Good post @Nate and a fair assessment.

That being said. It’s just one game on to the next.

We are 8-3
(3-1 in primtime games)
(4-1 on the road)

Next 4 out 5 on the road
Dallas in primtime

We played liked sht and won, then we played like sht and lost.

Expect a fast start against the Saints

I think if not for a porous OL we would have been fine. I think 74 sucks

Also sad, disappointed and embarrassed, but there’s nothing about “deserve” to it.

The team is what the team is. The DL is the weak link. I feel like we’re in a post-Suh hell on defense like we were in a post-Barry hell at RB.

So much help is needed, I honestly don’t know when we’ll actually be able to compete against the better clubs.

Still plenty of season.
But… yeah. Just…
Why can’t we have one season, just one season where we look like a legit team?
I guess that’s this year, and I shouldn’t put this game in a vacuum. But it’s hard.

Yup. Year 3 of the rebuild is ahead of schedule. ONE suh-like player (impact-wise) changes everything.

Crosby?
Draft?

This will get rectified , and in the meantime, we can enjoy the idea that we are ahead of schedule on our path to the Super Bowl.

We have a great GM & the best coach in the NFL.

Like that tune from the 90’s

I’m not sick
But I’m not well

My take is it’s becoming apparent JJ is a huge part of the OLine

And for crying out loud, resolve this ridiculous issue with Buggs

Help is on the way, Lions are in this for the long term, not for just this year

When I was growing up, my Dad always used to tell me…

“Why do you let yourself get so upset? Its the Lions, they either start the season off good, and let you down, or they start the season off bad, then finish good enough to give you hope”

That’s a very “Lionized” way to look at it, but it kind of seems pertinent after today.

Yup. Hug it out with Buggs, get Houston and Ceedy back. Lions need them. And please get the O’line either healthy or fixed.

Woooord

I’m not ruling out us getting hot in the playoffs and making some noise.

In the preseason, I was predicting we would lose the NFC title game and have 13 wins

I think we come very close to that this year

We got taken out of our game script for the second straight week because Glenn’s opening D is code named Snuggle Bear and the Vaunted Oline got Pwned.

We ran the ball well, actually.

But our flaws ( depleted secondary, bad pass rush) that we didnt fix bit us in one ass cheek, and the bad pass blocking in the other.

Then Goff and Dan’s bad bad bad call kicked us in the junk enough times where we couldn’t get back in time.

Glenn needs to figure the rush out.

Ben needs to stop calling these behind the LOS naked WR screens and do regular old PAP screens.

Guys up front need to block. No one did well, it wasnt all just Sorsdal/Awosika.

This is a wakeup call to the coached and players, and TBH, it came just in time.

Like i say to people who are defending the lions, its not the loss, its the method.

This team has looked good at times, but not an extended stretch. Every good team has a questionable game or two but this team is playing very poorly for multiple games.

Its obvious weve been figured out. That can happen. The massive concern is us not fixing it. We’re getting trucked by less than teams.

Looking at the schedule, if this coaching staff doesn’t figure it out, we might have one maybe two more wins. I have zero confidence in beating minny. If we cant stop the bears or a ridiculously injured packers team minny and dallas are putting 40 on us.

I’m not humiliated at all. We had a bad game with 3 TO’s and only lost by 1 score. Overall we are having a good year, and I have optimism for the rest of the season. Multiple ways to be fans of the same team I guess.

I HATE saying this.
I think both Ben and Dan had a rough week.

First time this year I thought our offense was mostly predictable.

This really should be universally accepted at this point. Our DL is not NFL-caliber and it’s impacting the backend, linebackers, offense and head coach.

Yup, they are human too. It happens.

The lack of pressure from our D-line is by far the biggest problem on the team. It is negatively affecting basically everything.

Glass is 3/4 full. Today was not fun. 10 days from now will be more fun.

I still want a clutch kicker too.
Our guy didn’t impact the game much, but he tried
