I wasn't pissed off yesterday. Now I am, thanks to the "open letter to fans"

Really? Tell that to Tom Coughlin. LOL, no, EVERY SINGLE TEAM does not do the same thing.

We lose a lot, you would think the fans would be used it and lose with dignity.

But neah, we’re Lions fans. Lets be as dramatic as we can :joy:

I don’t see why this letter would upset anybody. It’s the same nonsensical fluff that most organizations put out there to appease a fanbase.
Lions fans are smart enough to know what’s up. No amount of lipstick on this pig of a season will change that.

Them waiting this long to put Stafford on IR “conveniently” right after the announcement that Quinntricia will be back IS something to get worked up about.

I haven’t seen any other team’s open letters, but I would love it if you could share.

I think people are upset because no other ownership is as dysfunctional and satisfied with failure like the Ford family has been.

And yes, the handling of the Stafford situation was pretty F’ed up. That should not be surprising knowing who is calling the shots here.

Thanks for the advice. Part of the problem is I can’t just pick a random team like many other fans do. I have to have some kind of connection or reason for following the team. I lived about an hour away from Charlotte and me and my chick have a lot of great memories there. Its kind of a natural fit.

Well no shit, but we knew that before the letter.

Owners send out PR letters all the time to their fanbases during tough seasons, this isn’t exclusive to the Lions. Hell, one my other favorite teams which is just as dysfunctional as the Lions (the Edmonton Oilers) have done this several times in the last decade or so. In other words, it’s inconsequential and not worth getting worked up over IMO.

Getting worked up about Quinntricia being kept another year is one thing, getting worked up about a fluff piece is a waste of time IMO. Organizations have been trying to rationalize failure for the longest time.

Wait til you get another 30 or 40 years of it from Sheila.

She seems ready to carry on the family tradition.

It was a simple statement.

Kind of pitiful how everything needs to be an argument with you in your never ending quest to prove you are always right.

As much as it would’ve made things difficult on Vegas, I sorta wanted Taylor Hall to end up back with you guys.

PS Bring Back James Neal

Nope. Not missing it.
Fans have no input on the shit that the GM rolls out onto the field.
Sorry to burst your bubble but the things that I have posted or any other fans did not impact the lions winning or losing at all.
My internal assessment on how I can improve the Detroit Lions?

Good catch. Wow, this franchise really does have the lowest of low expectations.

I guess I’m not following. The Jags fired assistant coaches and retained the head coach when things were not going well. Coughlin himself was removed in the immediate aftermath of an arbitrator ruling and notice to players from the NFLPA.

Hall can still sign with the Oilers in the offseason and I certainly didn’t want them paying that hefty price for a rental.
You guys can have Neal back if you want. He’s good on the PP but a liability at even strength.

Have you always been a hockey fan or did Vegas draw you in? Do you live in Vegas?

If he wasnt so expensive I’d love him on the third line, but I’m good with Pacioretty taking his place.

I’ve always been into hockey – it’s what got me into the Lions, in a roundabout way. There was a period of time I begged Nate to start a Red Wings site. And yup – lived in Vegas for almost 17 years now!

Actually, You are missing it and then are trying to “educate” Abject on a point he wasn’t even making in the first place. He was talking about Linebacker not the Lions.

Have to agree this was very lame. So our goal NEXT season, is to be exactly where we were before Quinn was hired? We are now ASPIRING to get back to where Quinn said wasn’t good enough to keep Caldwell? Not that I was against moving on, but now to aspire to get back to that as the goal? Beyond weak and the “mandate” of someone who shouldn’t be a team owner at this point. If it was just Martha it would be one thing, but for the apparent next in line to own the team to sign that letter? Very depressing. Guess we’ll have to pray for a pass rush and hope it overcomes Patricia’s complete blind spots with his defense.

DOLLAR welcome Buddy !!! sight for sore eyes !!

Sweet gig living in Vegas, so in a roundabout way hockey cursed you.
You must have been thrilled when the Knights were born. I’ve never been to T-Mobile but it looks like quite the spectacle on TV.

Anyway, if you think you guys have it rough, try being an Oilers and Lions fan. Of course I became an Oilers fan after The Glory Years so I’ve witnessed nothing but heartache and apathy over the last 25 years even with a generational player in McDavid. Kind of funny that my two favourite teams seem to be the only ones that waste the careers of generational players. It’s amazing that these two clown show organizations haven’t sucked the enjoyment of sports out of me completely. I must be a masochist.

Are those teams run by a GM who fired the HC he chose to retain upon being hired proclaiming that 9-7 (ie an ahem “Playoff Contender”) wasn’t good enough? Now the “goal” is to get back to where he was when he fired the last coach? Sorry, this is problematic. I know we can’t do much other than suck this egg. But I will complain.
