He’s not a stiff. Nobody pays a stiff $50m per. He’s overpaid and yes you have to work around some defensive limitations but he’s a legit offensive weapon.
The contract is an issue. But that’s why I think he’d be cheap in terms of trade compensation.
No I get it that’s the formula and that’s to a degree what they have right now with Harris only for 22 million. Stand Pat and get Jaren Jackson after this next coming season. Thats the right guy/age/game/grit/fit/contract/cost
As you mentioned before you could overpay Myles Turner? I actually like the player and fit but he’s going to be Lauri like in that he’s getting maxed out (or close to it) even though he’s not a true max player.
My main thing is I just see so many solid NBA setups ruined bc management and ownership are impatient and move too soon.
I like Turner way more than Markanmen because he fits better. Defense and rim protection first, stretch 5 second. Markkanen would be stretch 5 first, defense never.
Also, Turner is a FA and just costs money. Keeps the powder dry for upgrading Ivey or Ausar
Pacers/pistons will be the heated rivalry again and you either take their guy which makes them hate us or you cost them to pony up more to keep him which makes them hate us. Either way win/win!
I would tend to agree. Legitimate run protection and still deadly catch and shoot skills.
Porter is intriguing bc I think in Detroit he could be the Alpha from a pure scoring standpoint and really flourish. He’s got the whole bag. Cade can still be he focal point but lean a bit more into distribution. Porter has gotten better defensively but he doesn’t impact that end like Turner does. And like you said, injury concerns of course.
Pistons should see if Foxy would work something out for them? Maybe play a little 2 guard for 'em. Lead the league in scoring, but only show up for playoffs?
Foxy would spend as llittle energy as possible to ensure the win. Play 4th quarter only. Come out and start smashing 3’s until they were assured the win.
Myles Turner is likely re-signing with the Pacers, unless some stupid, insane offer comes his way. He has already mentioned he wants to be retire a Pacer and the Pacers have said they’ll go into the tax to re-sign him.
Very rare because Herb Simon was always against going into the tax, but his son Steven Simon(I believe it is) is handling that stuff as his father is very old and has said he wants to keep the core together. So… likely not an option unless, again, and insane offer comes his way he can’t say no to.
