If the smoke of Proctor to Detroit is true… what say you?

Admittedly it’s prospect I haven’t done much research on because his profile scared me a bit. How boom or bust is he?

QBHater- you here this anywhere?

I’ve already said how I feel about him in a very very strong manner so I’ll let someone else have a go at it this time. @Davicus

Everything I’ve read in the last week doesn’t have him available at 17

When has that ever stopped Handsome Brad?

We have plenty of future 3rd rd picks to use as trade up fuel.

Not my preference at all, so I’m hoping the rumors of him going earlier are true. If they do take him, I hope they partner him with Sewell to get in shape.

I’m all in on Proctor to Detroit, if Georgia or Utah OT aren’t available.

The hatred for him on this board is absurd

Yep, sounds like he could go top 10… Good, pushes players I prefer down to the Lions. Proctor is too much projection for me personally, but if he hits, he’s going to be amazing.

It’s my hope we trade down because I think OT is less urgent esp if we are indeed moving Sewell to LT. Proctor was a freak growing up in IOWA and I think there is substantial ceiling left but he has to be committed to getting there. He’s young, doesn’t turn 21 until after the draft, and he would benefit greatly by starting on the right side or sitting to start the season. He’s a generational talent or a bust or eventually moved inside. He reminds me of my wife’s nephew, state champion wrestler at 220. But once he got to college guys that didn’t have his shear strength won on technique. So now you are at a crossroads, are you going to take the next step? Plug and play? Well, at RT he might be able to walk right in, we’ll see. He comes from a football family,
“Kadyn Proctor has eight siblings and his two siblings namely Paul Perkins and Bryce Perkins are NFL players. Kadyn’s brother Paul is a former professional football player who was a running back, and was first drafted by the New York Giants in 2016. And Bryce Perkins is a quarterback who is a free agent.”
Both those guys got on him when his weight was pushing 4 bills, they know the journey and don’t want him to fail. The second half of last season was notably better than the first so he was/is trending in the right direction.
I think part of the “hatred” doesn’t have anything to do with him, it’s the ghost of Aaron Gibson and that taste still sucks. But he’s not AG who was in fact a boom or bust pick. He is more likely to be a boom or move inside guy. There’s a couple OT’s that I would be happy with after a trade down. My preference in this draft is getting an OT and Edge with the first 2 picks.

Thanks for all of this!

From a ceiling perspective…

Proctor/Freeling/Mauigoa

From a floor perspective…

Fano/Miller/Mauigoa

Is that about the consensus?

Has Proctor been to the doctor?
If not, then it’s a no for Brad.

See..

It will be interesting where the offensive linemen end up getting selected in this draft.

It seems like every draft analyst has a different projection of who gets picked early and who may be available at the end of the 1st round.

Throw in arm length, size preference, experience difference… and this seems like a crapshoot.

Lots of good Olinemen available in this draft, at least in the first round anyways

If proctor can get in the 330-340with a little more definition he could be gold. At 360 injuries will end him before his first contract ends.
