In a game you cannot win

You don’t leave your best asset in there to take injury. That for everyone spouting vitriol over pulling Stafford

In a meaningless game, why play him in the first place?

They take him out after 1 series in preseason.

Nothing to be gained from winning this game.

I could see giving him the start. The start streak has some meaning. Then pull him at some point

I thought the Lions could’ve won that game right up until Stafford got sacked on 4th and 3 with about 6 and a half to go. At that point they were down 8, which is still reachable and they are paid to play to win. But then the Vikes kicked the FG to go up 2 scores and it was over, so they brought in Cassel. Which was the right thing to do IMHO.

So generous.

Not a snowball’s chance in hell we win that game.

We might try to make it close, for a half, if for no other reason than to show the players they can hang with Minnesota, but you don’t throw away a top 5 pick for a meaningless win.
