Concern level is high. With the Packers and Bills the next 2 games.
The 2nd half today was bad on defense letting Caleb throw 3 TD passes.
I think the 2nd half today could be what we see the next few games I think our offense is going to have to get into shoot outs the next 2 games to have a chance to win.
What sucks is the Eagles, Vikings and Packers are right there. Even being 11-1 is not enough this year to not worry about a game or 2 here and heal up. We need that #1 seed and division.
On the other side of the ball we have every single opening day starter playing except Decker and Raymond who always finds a way to contribute. This offense has to keep chugging along.
I remember 2008 being bad, mainly because I remember (and believed) Mayhew talking about depth players being elevated too high in the rotation leads to trying to play above your abilities, which leads to injury. His thinking is that a proper number of starters turns a struggling roster around and works toward ending injuries. (in the context of not needing 53 new players, but adding a few at the top would improve the whole)
Anyhow, not intended to be a derail or anything, but just to say that 2008 was notably bad.
In the last few years we had more money on IR that we had on defense. Can’t remember which year that was.
Dude, you’re totally right.! They should have went out and gotten someone like Za’Darius Smith to get 1.5 sacks yesterday and maybe Al-Quadin Muhammed to get a sack and a PD yesterday, and then he could have gone out to get a solid vet LB like, I don’t know, David Long Jr, who was his previous teams leading tackler two years ago. I wish Holmes would have been thinking to fill those roster holes caused by injuries. Man, I wish Holmes would have done something, anything!
Unreal. Another problem is because of injuries other players get less rest. Alim for example played almost every snap yesterday at DT…that is not sustainable. Need a rotation to have any chance of staying healthy.
