Is Ben Johnson designing Jamo's plays?

If so, he needs to be kicked hard in the nuts…

Yes, Ben Johnson draws up plays that call for Jamo to drop balls.

Aside from that…

Exactly I agree.

Trying to force him the ball is making it worse.

Jamo routes should be

Post, Midlevel Crossing route, Go route and deep in.

That’s it. They do the same thing with James Houston

Jamo had the drops but good God does he get asked to make catches that would get him blown up.

Where’s that comeback route when he created 5 yards of separation?

On the play that Goff threw behind Leaf, Jamo had burnt his dude down the field from what I saw

He caught one over the middle with nobody around him aside from the ankle tackle. He would have been gone. Still have my concerns but you saw what “could have been” if he hopped 3 inches higher.

Ben designs all the offensive plays, thats his job. He cant execute them.

Please stop making excuses for the guy. He literally had a ball thrown right in his hands tonight and for a guy that gets paid to catch balls, his hands are out of sync on what should be an easy catch. He literally looks like a junior high player out there at times. When you’re dropping balls consistently every game it’s more than just a bad game. It’s a pattern.

I’m in no way making excuses. I’m merely saying that the cross route he caught tonight is an example of what he “could” be. Obviously he needs to work on catching. But if it clicks, good. night. He’s gone against any secondary in the league.

Put him in the slot and let him do that. Boom it works

That motion wheel route, let Leaf run that play. Fits his strengths much better

I think you’re missing my point is no matter where you get him on the field, if he actually catches it and doesn’t have anyone within 4 yards of him, game over.

Every week it’s somebody else’s fault that Jamo isn’t catching the ball.
It’s getting old. As of right now, the guy is not performing on the field.
Green could probably do better, and Kennedy definitely could. They’re just not as fast.
I repeat, fast doesn’t mean shit if you don’t have the ball in your possession.

To me it looks like Jamo wants to take everything to the house, Goff will often just throw where the defender ain’t and save the receiver from taking a hit. Once he trusts Goff we will see some big plays. On a crossing route if if Goff throws it at your knees just drop and catch it because the safety is coming to smash you. If he leads it just snatch it and keep running. Saint and LaPorta completely get it and Jamo has to understand sometimes a 7 yard gain is fine to fit in this offense.
On the other hand he may just be a big play WR that needs a big play QB that can extend plays and hit him deep on broken plays. I think he just wants to show what he can do and he is getting limited opportunities. Once he catches 7 or 8 balls in a game he will realize not every one is going to the house.

ETA…

Edited out a post that I thought was Goff not throwing to Jamo…
It was actually Raymond that Aikman spotlighted being open on a play where Goff chose the checkdown:
