I can’t wait to watch him pitch. He didn’t do real well in triple A, so I’m trying to temper my expectations.
It’s strange though, that the pitchers we call up seem to do much better in the big leagues, than they do in the minors. I have to believe that it has something to do with Fetter getting his meat hooks on them.
Also, maybe Jake has something to do with it, and if we’re going there, you may have to include Dingler too.
If not mistaken they have Fetter and two other pitching assistant coaches in Detroit (not sure what their title is).
Obviously they do a fantastic job of building on each players development program, continuing the progress from the minors to the MLB stadiums.
Madden is probably the most intriguing to me. Kid was not good in AA and reports said he was there to work on a couple of specific things. Ok in AAA at best and improving in Detroit, highly thought of when he was drafted as a potential quick mover through the system. He stalled out at AAA, back to AA and now in Detroit.
Wilmer Flores and Madden were the next two supposed good starters coming from the system, with some having both as relievers.
