I would guess that if someone did a poll asking what the weakest player position on the team was, 100% would say DL.
I feel like folks are arguing about what shade of blue the sky is.

I think you can make an arguement for DB or DL being the weakest link at the moment.
I think it all spawns from a weak DL.
Those two position groups were the biggest needs going into this last off season, Brad hit it out of the park with the DB’s with CJGJ, Sutton, Mosely, and drafting Branch, regardless of current injuries, he at least tried to aggressively improve the team there.
But he then shat the bed when all he did for the DL was, (checks notes) trade up for a project DT in Bromart, who’s not even playing and was a healthy scratch yesterday.
Head scrstchingly bi-polar approach by Brad…and it’s showing up like clockwork against QB’s who dont suck.
I do think that he gambled on the DL improving in 2023 based on how they played the last half of 2022. I think he recognized the greatest need, again based on play in 2023 was the DB group and he went after it heavy.
I believe he and DC think they are building a foundation for a longer run than a year or three, which is a gamble admittedly, but they are sticking to the plan. Unfortunately the DL play has regressed outside of Hutch and the Houston injury makes it worse just like the DB injuries have hurt that group.
If I’m right and they think they are on schedule or even ahead of schedule with where the team is as a whole I understand why they did or didn’t do at the deadline. Personally, I would have preferred acquiring help on the DL or in the DB group as we don’t know what the future holds with players/injuries etc. And of course, it is easy to criticize when we don’t know what offer was or was not made to acquire help at the deadline.
This one
Feels like the Lions defense should have had more success against a chargers WR core that is mediocre. Yes Herbert kept plays alive and their running game is better than most we’ve faced.
Still, the scheme looked to be sub par. Put sutton and joseph on Allen and their passing game goes away.
