National Grandmas day is January 21st.

Not quite as important as July 31st, but pretty fuckin close.

For real? You gotta be living in a humid town?

It’s not that. It’s just that operating a 14 staff member lodging property that runs 95% occupancy in the summer with one half of the staff being college aged kids who are more loyal to the river, lake, camping, and so on is exhausting.

Perhaps I’m extra jaded at the moment bc I’m dealing with epic likely employment ending bullshit from two of my staff members (i.e. 14% of my staff) in the midst of getting run over by an avalanche of travelers.

The Willamette Valley is quite nice in the summer minus a half dozen days of extreme heat and June allergies.

Oh and the sports viewing calendar sucks.

No worries bud…those summer jobs have any extra details and benefits? Just asking cause I have several former students looking for gigs.

DM if you got some info I can share

The money is great :man_shrugging:

Send me the details…if the money is good enough many will apply.

Shit I might apply with the state of Canada haha.

I think I have enough staff to withstand it. It will likely require some sweat equity from yours truly but I’m down with that if need be. I’m a lead from the front sort anyways. Lodging is a complicated situation at the moment. From what I can tell the economy is bifurcated along class lines. In the high season we cater to upper-class and above and they’re still flush on account of the persistence of the wealth effect. In the off-season our guests are primarily working class folks and they seem to be experiencing some consumption fatigue from the cumulative effect of higher prices. Therefore me picking up the slack for a couple months probably makes the most sense for the business as well as for my staff and their ability to have sufficient hours come off-season.
