In reference to that, are there any players out there at our positions of biggest need (S, CB, OL) that would be worth sending over a couple of high round picks and a mid-tier player for?

I don’t think so, in terms of Parsons he was due for the big contract and Dallas didn’t want to pay it. The last player that was really in a contract dispute was Vita Vea, and he just signed an extension. Baker still isn’t happy with his contract but is expected to play.
We’ve gone over it before, but the biggest name that could maybe be getable this year is Denzel Ward, but that would require him basically demanding out of Cleveland.
What about Gonzalez out of NE? They haven’t come to terms on a new contract.
That’s a great call out. I don’t think NE would ever trade him, but we didn’t think Parsons would get traded either.
JJ McCarthy may be available on the cheap to compete for the backup QB role

Since he’s not on the Cowboys it’s a lot less of a story.

The Browns just extended Ward about a month ago for 2 years, and included a check for a $18.6 million SB that is already paid.
That means they would want enough compensation to get a high level player, but also to offset the loss of $18.6 million that the owner paid and their cap would feel over 2026/2027.
They would probably not listen to anything less than a 1st and 2nd rounder due to that contract situation.
