If the refs had access to replay they wouldn’t have thrown a flag, IMO. I can understand how refs would incorrectly interpret that as a penalty in the moment. Jack didn’t add any stink to that tackle and he could have driven him into the ground a lot more than he did in the normal course of a tackle, IMO.

No need for replay… or even replay assist!!!
They should have huddled….
waited 72 seconds or so….
and then decided (upon further discussion of course)….
that no penalty was merited.
He clearly braced his fall with his arms. Look at it in real time, not the still shots. He avoided putting all of his weight on him.
Ve have our veys, says the NFL.

I don’t think the refs really saw it that way….
.
considering his arms were wrapped around JJ just inches from the turf….
.
.
and still didn’t appear to support his own weight on the ground…

I remember the good old days when officials went to a booth and re-watched the play several times then made a call or reversed one.
no they didn’t see it that way. i agree.
like i said, look at it in real time. he let up so as to not put his full weight on him. i watched it about 20 times.
either way, the league has become way too soft. when its debatable, as this was, they’ll always side with the qb.
Im just waiting for flag football
Actually if this happened to Goff, 90% of this board would be yelling about Glasgow being a turnstile—even it wasn’t his guy to block.
I would not.
Its almost like Rodgers. Qbs dont strap those things down like we think they do
I saw the exact same thing in another game sunday and they didnt call it
If this happened to Goff…. 90+ percent of this board would be screaming for a flag.
Prior to this game, nope.
But now that a standard has been set then most definitely and justifiably so.
I would gladly take another 15 yards to watch him do the same thing again.
Such Bullshit!
It’s a “correct” call based on a badly written rule. Do they want the league to go back to the good old days where defensive players made sure that the QB really earned that flag, if one was thrown?
