He is gonna be and has always been great when called up, but there’s a reason we haven’t given him more snaps… he’s just too small to be the sort of blocker we want out of a WR (especially an outside one). Us fans tend to forget just how important that is to our scheme, and it’s the main reason he hasn’t already gotten more snaps. And it’s through no fault of his own, he gives it his all. He’s just too small.
That’s why I agree with @CuriousHusker that Hodgins would be a great fit.

Right I was actually shocked he went in the 1st, then he had a good rookie season and I just assumed I was wrong. I’m still not entirely sure how a guy can be good as a rookie then just suck, but I suppose we’ve seen it before. Claypool, Juju, etc…
The only way Kalif plays more is if St. Brown plays a lot more outside. Kalif was at around 30 percent offensive snaps played last year. But St. Brown blocks well in the slot. So your point still stands.

I still think Detroit needs some help at wr. Weve been lucky that st Brown hasn’t been hurt very often.
Wouldn’t have mattered anyways as matching a third wouldnt be an accepted offer from us most likely.
Certainly that’s how it will be most often when he’s on the field but yeah, we definitely sacrifice something by losing ARSB’s slot blocking.
