I think they reached for both players when they would have been there later in the first or early second
It’s not a reach if you don’t think the player will not be there at your next pick. They clearly didn’t think Jack Campbell or JG would be there at 34. Brad talked about it. Said he didn’t want to get cute with trading back. They were the highest guys on their board so they just took them.
That’s what you do to not lose a guy you want. You just take him (even if it’s “early” to some people) and move on.
As I said last night ad nauseam, that’s not a reach. That’s a draft pick.

The thing I love about Gibbs’ highlights is that they are against the top teams in college who are bring it that game because they are going against Bama and he still makes them look silly. On the other hand Bijan’s highlights are against the no defence Big 12.

We “assume” that both could have been gotten later in the draft. To believe that, you have to believe that Brad is completely on his own here when it comes to talent evaluation.

mock drafts are fun here each season as to who we hope and deduct who the staff picks, and it passes a bunch of time , besides sitting around waiting for the draft…I have no problems with it. and-if one of us gets 2-3 of the picks right, that’s cool !
