Trout Creek is tiny. You could very easily drive through it and miss the sign and never know you just went through a town.
Harsh winters! You have to be hearty to live there.

I just realized I know this kid’s grandparents, uncles, and cousins.
His uncles were hockey coaches for my step-son.

I guess I will really be rooting for him now!

Very cool. So he was an OT at Michigan Tech?

How did Incoom show at the pro day?

Witt was a 3-time all-state basketball player in high school, which helps explain his 37 inch vertical jump.

In college…
Witt started out at Michigan Tech… playing basketball in 2018.
He transferred to NMU in 2019 sue to changing major, and didn’t play.
He joined the football team in 2020, but season was cancelled.

His college football career started in 2021 as a TE.

He has only played 1 season as a OT in college…
so I would guess he may be a multi-year project.

I watched part of an interview he did… and he mentioned some teams have talked to him about playing TE… which makes me wonder if it was the Lions or Ravens.

And…. one last interesting tidbit… Dane Brugler wrote that an NFC scout told him that Witt would be drafted.

Interesting thought, he might fit as a developmental TE/6th OT very well for Lions.

Aka-trying to get him as a UDFA & this is the part were teams lie. Recruiting is mostly all one big lie lol

Edit to add: he’s an OT, any team talking to him about playing TE is BSing him to try & get him to sign with them

I love seeing guys like this get a shot. Clearly he works hard and has good athletic traits.

You’d think he’d project better as a TE though.

Hope the kid gets drafted and he makes it.

Why do you believe that? His ceiling as an OT is immensely higher than it is as a TE.

As a TE dime a dozen, as an OT if developed correctly could be a 10 year starter in the NFL

Well two reasons.

  1. He’s a little light for an OT.

  2. His athletic traits scream TE.

He’s gonna need to bulk up if he wants to be an OT.

His frame is meant to easily carry another 15-25 LB’s if a team wants him to

He’ll have plenty of time to do so as well, he’ll be stashed on a team’s practice squad for a couple of years
