Jamo suing the B1G, SEC, and NCAA

Ha, at least you’re honest.

I think nil is ■■■■■■■ dumb as shit. I think the portal is just as dumb. We’ve lost team 1st. I think professional players make way too much as well.

It is a massive industry with significant income due to advertising and tv deals. So only follow up i would have to this comment, what would you rather be done with the money? Goes to the wealthy owners?

Communicating things like paying teachers or service members isnt really an option in a true capitalistic environment so who do you want to make the money?

This isn’t me thing BTW.

What? I was just interested in your position. I have heard that stance from many people, that professional athletes make too much, but when i ask about where the money realistically should go the discussion falls flat.

Was just curious if you had a thought on it or if it was just a general stance on people being paid too much money.

Im confused PM.

lol what’s he suing the BIG 10 for, he played like 10 snaps in that conference. A highlight of one of his teammates scoring a TD while he’s run blocking.

Overall this feels like a greedy move by Jamo/his reps… I guess the 84 million plus his other earnings aren’t enough

Thank you

Maybe but if it leads to people that have been overly screwed by the NCAA in the past being compensated fairly idk if i should care? Almost would make him like robin hood here.

I think people minimize how much money these leagues make and that the money is going to go to somebody, maybe it should be the players that put their bodies on the line vs 32ish billionaires playing owner or the colleges that continue to subsidize other areas for various reasons.

If they win he’ll get a percentage of the take when other players follow suit.

And no more team first. I guess NFL players leaving for $1-2m more is team first

Or players sitting out for a few more $ is team first two.

Its always how it goes.

But i side with the players every time.

Why? Because they are making $10m while owners are making $100BIL.

Because they continue to illegally use his likeness.

I just cant grasp that line of thinking. How does anyone “make too much” and who is the person who sets that barometer for what is too much? You? Me? Society?

I think YOU make too much.

Actually, I don’t but it sounds stupid for me to say it, doesn’t it?

People should be paid whatever someone is willing to pay them. It’s really that simple.

Also, I’d like to retract my previous comment that NIL is the answer. I fukcing hate the NIL as well because it still does not fix the original problem correctly. It does in a way, in that it pays players to play a sport that the Universities and broadcast companies make billions from their efforts. The problem is, it relies on boosters/fans to pay them while the Universities still bankroll entire athletic programs from the revenue generated by these players, until recently but that’s still a pittance compared to the revenue generated. I would love to see the broadcast companies that rake in billions a year be forced to contribute along with the universities because as it stands, they are getting off scott free. I realize that’s not how the system works but, I’d still like to see them bear part of the burden.

Every single day is another day where there are a million examples of why private Enterprise Bears out as being infinitely better Steward and user of capital then structures that don’t have invested ownership interest i e, government

This dovetails with the same argument about income. Jamo should have absolutely sue them if they are not paying him to use his likeness rights. In fact any retired pro athlete should be calling their lawyer right now and taking a look at any video game maker or other producer of entertainment that are using them and their products. Does does any of the video games for college football a all 70s team? Or did they use full teams from the past? Does it use the actual likeness of the players? Better Call Saul!
