People get let go during routine stops all the time. As for the gun, it was registered to him, he has no cpl. Looks like that is a misdemeanor in michigan typically subject to fines?

Maybe some growing up, but definitely some learning of laws and rules. It’s hard because not every state is as restrictive on this particular issue like Michigan is. For instance, this is completely legal in Alabama. It’s possible he started carrying in Alabama because he was told it was fine and didn’t realize he can’t do that shit in Michigan.

This typically pleads out as an improper transport misdemeanor but can be charged as a concealed weapon felony. If there wasn’t any other criminal conduct it will likely be a no big deal thing.
