Jared Goff is one great game away from making history

weigh in, do you think Goff is a top 5 QB now?

I’ve been saying Goff is Elite since he got here. I haven’t seen anything to change that.
Top 5?
There isn’t a QB in the league that I’d rather have leading this team, right now.

Yes, and I have for a while now.

Last 3 games:

  • 58/68 (85.3%)
  • 887 yards (13.0 per attempt, 296 per game)
  • 7 TD
  • 0 INT
  • 153.0 rating

Those are absurd numbers. MVP numbers.

Bradshaw was mentioning Brady in same sentence with Goff. Bradshaw had no doubt Goff was going to bring the Lions back when they got the ball at the end of the fourth.

Literally unprecedented over the last 50+ years.

Another thing I noticed was the commentators crediting the amazing Oline play when discussing Goffs game

Did they watch the same game? Our oline is really good but they were getting beat today and taking penalties too. We felt Zietler being out. Goff was under some pressure

Loss of Zeitler can’t be understated, winning without him even moreso

When the Lions traded for Goff. Most Rams fans thought they traded away a good QB and Most Lions fans thought they were getting a stop gap who would be gone in a year.

I pumped those brakes from day one. I’ve always believed the pure pocket passers are better than the dual threat QB’s. I provided stats that showed Goff’s win percentage and how pocket passers have won more than the dual threat guys have.

Montana, Marino, Manning, are who I want over Moon, McNair, and Mahomes for example.

I mean the best QB ever is a pocket passer.

I think Goff deserves to be in MVP conversations

Funny how many people now say they were big Goff fans when he first came to Detroit. Mind you, I’m not questioning that. I certainly didn’t track who said what about him.

But as someone who followed Goff over from the Rams and defended him vociferously on this board, it sure felt like lonely work. The anti-Goff fans were way louder than the give-him-a-chance folks, much less the actually-he’s-GOOD folks.

Glad for him, for us, and for the Lions that we find ourselves here now.

I was “bridge” on day 1, but have no shame whatsoever in admitting that his play has won me over.

Last year I was irritated by a few who argued they were supporters from day 1, so I went back to scan the threads. To my amazement, there were a lot more supporters than I remembered.

So Goff is now the 4th QB to have 3 games at 140 or higher 3 games in a row quarterback rating

He is good
Very good

Not on the board I inhabited. Most of them were clapping and jeering as Goff left town, taking their cue from McVay.

Only now are they beginning to bemoan what they gave up, and I AM ENJOYING THE **** OUT OF IT.

I was not a Goff fan at all. I thought he was a mediocre, over paid starting QB who wasn’t very tough. The first half of his first year reinforced all that and I wasn’t even sure if he was starting caliber.

The 2nd half of his 1st year here had me thinking that maybe he had a future. His 2nd year cemented it with me.

Decker was having some issues with his punch. Greenard was defeating him decisively with his hand fighting in the second half. Good players make plays :man_shrugging:

I was excited and willing to give him a chance at the beginning, but admit I did bail at about week 10 that first season. I had seen enough. Since then, though, he’s been amazing .

To be fair, OC’s matter. We are seeing a great staff and team around Goff, allowing his best to come out.
