I think Lions fans can adjust to a winning program where you’re tweaking things and changes within the plan
Might not win everything every time
But what team does ?
If Stafford was leading this offense with Goff’s exact stat line some fans would be cementing him in the hall of fame which they find the same stats lacking if produced by Goff.
Not all fans but some who are fixated on what he doesn’t bring
While the team is being successful as any team, instead of what he’s bringing and the actual results.
I hope everybody sees the La Porta on field interview about his game yesterday. It was short but underscores how the team sees Goff.
There’s a segment of this board that would rather have a QB that is less talented than Goff in every QB trait as long as that QB is more mobile than Goff.
Whoever was QBing THIS TEAM would be subjected to the same pendulum-like/emotional thinking that you see here every friggin week. When it goes good “All a dynasty in the making”…hit a snag “Oh shit, burn it down “…
I’ve been trying to find it. It was post game on the field with the sideline reporter Melanie
If anybody knows how to find it
Or they might have it if they recorded the game and post game.
Basically LaPorta said Goff is their “dude”
You got Ragnow on instagram posting the haters are sick.
I think they really like Goff
@Richard_Parker there could still be the swings but in general Stafford was popular and often escaped too much blame as things burned around him
But when his stats were great lions fans were like “he’s a hall of famer”
True…but that still applies to every QB I have seen play since Charlie Batch. I think across the board EVERY LIONS FAN hated Scott Mitchell. But to me it seems that the fiasco with Scott Mitchell made Lions fans desperate for a franchise QB. So you have love and total excuses/total blame and hate for Charlie Batch….followed by Joey Harrington……then Stafford and now Goff
I thought Stafford had some doubters but far more fans who saw him as the guy no matter how the offense performed. We’d read how Stafford had full control of offense and could make checks at the line … watch the run game struggle and never question if he checked into the right play … Stafford is a franchise guy
Goff seems to have so many people fixated on saying what he doesn’t do well, as if it’s his Achilles heal alone. So many detractors who seem like they’ve never watched any other teams over the course of a season when in history there’s only been one undefeated regular season.
The team mates seem to believe in Goff while so many fans are worried about Goff’s extension.
