Goff is cool, calm and collected.
His rep is that if you pressure him he will make mistakes. But even if that is true, he gathers himself quickly in the huddle and is ready for the next snap.
There’s a lot to be said for having a dude that doesn’t have a big ego, and can move on when the shit hits the fan.
I’ve really grown to appreciate Jared. Would love to see him get a ring in Detroit.

I love how he stands there with the wolves coming at him to put him on the ground , to hit him , to swing at him while he has the Football , and Goff stands in there so calmly and then he delivers the ball to his intended target almost 70% of the time.

I’ve mentioned before that Drew Brees is the type of player Goff could realistically closely emulate.
Good decision maker, tough, accurate short game, and has leadership qualities.
He may not carry a team like Mahomes and Burrow can, but you can build around someone like Goff and Brees.

I too gave this comparison early last year. The game was there for both in college. Both showed something on their fort teams, though Goff showed more, and both proved to be better “dome” and good weather QBs.
Brees gave way Rivers and he could have easily become a Dolphin or Lion, but the Saints as Payton just fit. Kind of like DC and Goff- they are both guys guys….
Goff has way more masculine security than half with emotionally fragile QBs out there.
- I don’t think Goff is quite the gamer Brees was, but we also didn’t see Brees consistently win til he was 30!

I like Goff but he has too weak an arm. He’s basically Cousins and Carr. His energy is coquettish and feminine, He wilts under pressure, He doesn’t step up in the pocket, he’s a statue, he threw the ball away on 4th down, he will cost too much. He needs everything to be perfect. I’ve praised him a million times and I’m happy he’s our QB, but he sucks and I want him gone. We should replace him with any rookie QB who will become Mahomes
And don’t forget, he’s a product of Gurley, Cupp, McVay, Ben Johnson, Christen Harper, the new hot dog vendor.
It can’t be that Goff is, ya know, actually good… No, he’s a product of or something something blah blah blah.
I know you made the Cousins comp in jest but that’s not really unflattering. I always feel like he caught flak like Goff for the same reasons. Product of this that or the other, wilts under the first sign of pressure, statue etc. yet the guy continues to put up numbers and wins in recent years. A like Goff more but Cousins in another guy that has been constantly underrated.

Goff is gonna do fine.
Since day 1, I’ve said that all he needs to do is be our version of Eli manning.
I think he is better than Eli.
I’m super proud of his growth as a WB, but far more impressed how he has grown as a leader.
Sure, there are better players around him, and everyone can see that…but he has grown as a man, and a leader, as well as a football player.
Takes guts to hold yourself accountable in that way.
