Jared Goff's INSANE Photographic Memory

Articles all day long? Lol

More like one from whatever this is.

Your last post was much more accurate. Nobody really knows. But pretending it did happen isn’t accurate either.

Whatever happened in LA in 2020 looks really weird in retrospect. Maybe McVay is right that Goff is just an average to below average quarterback. But it’s weird that he gave up on him so quickly after the massive extension in 2018. That team was a mess in 2019 with all kinds of injuries and turnover on the offensive line and losing their deep threat in Cooks.

Some posters keep comparing Goff’s terrible YPA that year to Stafford’s this year. But that looks like it was the design of the McVay offense in 2020. Somehow Goff went from a guy in 2018 who was second in the league behind Mahomes in plays over 20 yards to a guy who was near the bottom of the league in YPA in 2020. Huh??

For some reason, McVay just had no confidence in having Goff attack defenses 20 + yards down the field and I’ve always thought that Goff excels at those throws in the 15-25 yard range. Take a look at the Rams playoffs that year. On the 2nd drive, Goff made a couple nice throws in the 20 yard range to get the Rams in FG position, and then McVay called three running plays in a row, including a wild cat run with Akers, so the Rams had to settle for a fg.

Rams fans were also upset with McVay for calling a couple wide receiver screens (that went no where) when the Rams were down by 10 or so in the 4th quarter.

If Johnson can be a good OC and the Lions have some health, Goff should lead this offense to a good year IF he really is a good qb.
