Jaxon Smith-Njigba

And bc he’s a self absorbed jerk

Big play guy bc of YAC mostly. I do wonder if this Grubbs style offense isn’t ideal for him. If he was used like KC uses Rice I think he might put up some pretty nice numbers.

But I do wonder if his lack of a top gear is a bigger problem on this level. The quicks still play but our NFL CBs better able to turn on the jets and recover? :man_shrugging:

JSN is young and has plenty of time to get better and/or find a situation in which he gets more touches.

Right now, thought, you’re seriously underselling Robert Woods. In this prime w/the Rams he was VERY good - catching, running, and blocking.

Yea there is only 1 football… JSN still on pace for 800 yards…not exactly bad

I mean, he had 93 targets last year and has 50 already through 6 games this year… He’s getting opportunities

I think the difference between the two: Jamo does have elite traits. JSN doesn’t.

So I agree, gun to head, Jamo is the guy. My greater point though, outside of Calvin Johnson, Chase, MHJ types, 1st round picks on WR are usually bad values

When JSN went 21 I figured that was reasonable. I wouldn’t have picked any of the WR there, but at that point the value curve is flattening so not awful. My objections then were to the advocates wanting the Lions to take him at #6

Even so, I am thinking the Seahawks would be better off today if they had gone lineman or CB

Not at all. When I made that comp it wasn’t an insult to Woods or JSN. But the cult here considered it heresy

Too early to tell. I loved him that year. I also loved Brian Branch. I think he could still be amazing. Too many mouths to feed in that offense.

The players that you mentioned are game changers. They force defenses to modify how they are going to match up with these great wide receivers. I think Jamison Williams is turning into that. How can teams look at that 70 yard touchdown he had against Seattle and not be worried? Not keep an extra safety deep? Jamo can influence a game by not even catching a ball. Njigba does not that kind of ability at the NFL level, imo, and is why I wouldn’t personally have drafted him in the first round. He’s good but I don’t think he’s ever going to be a game changer.

Part of that is due to injury. He broke his wrist and has had a nagging shoulder injury.

I also think with Metcalf and Locket on that team means he sharing targets. He is only 150 yards behind Metcalf and Metcalf is getting 2 more targets a game on average.
