If they don’t bring back Elliot, a signing like this would make a lot of sense.

John Johnson is definitely a guy I would keep my eye on. He was a leader in the secondary for the Rams and would probably come at a reasonable cost. I would take Johnson over Elliot because of Elliot’s injury history and the cost is likely in the same ballpark.

Elliott was key to our run defense though (see Carolina game he missed) and that’s the weakest part of Johnson’s game. I don’t mind signing him but we’d definitely still need a safety that can play in the box.
