John Lindstrom: I gave up on the Detroit Lions in 1975. Now, they're winning, and I'm confused. | Opinion

If the name is familiar, well, it’s because it is:

“We Lindstroms have a great history in football. Five of my cousins — sons and grandsons of my 160-pound Uncle Paul (who was a regarded painter) — have played or now play professional football: David played for the Kansas City Chiefs; Chris Sr. for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers; Eric was drafted by the New England Patriots and played for Barcelona (in the now-gone international American football league) and then for the Toronto Argonauts. Chris’ sons now play in the NFL: Alec for the New York Jets and [Chris Jr., a guard with the Atlanta Falcons, is Pro Bowl bound.]”

This one guy i went to school with still refuses to acknowledge the Lions. He cheers for Dallas as a way to mock everyone he knows (cause we’re all Lions fans). Of course it’s nothing maliscious and all in good humor. Still, I’m waiting to hear him eating some crow.
