It’s like, some people seem to think that they have a right to know the private conversations held behind closed doors and if they can’t get it, they’ll just speculate and make shit up.
It will shake out the way it shakes out.
Dan appreciates Morton. Morton works his ass off. Dan may have corrected the problem. Whether that long term or not, we’ll just have to see.
There are a lot of HC’s that call plays, and, they all have OC’s doing exactly what Morton is doing, right now.
Ultimately, it’s up to Dan if he wants to be the game caller, or, not. We do know that he was prepared to call the games in 22. As of the filming of hard knocks, he hadn’t yet decided that Ben would be calling plays.
Btw, remember how those first 7 games went in 22? Not as well as Morton’s first 7.
Oh so he kept the deer in head lights look that he’s had since the season started??
This a quote from Dan early in his tenure. He got a little blowback on it from some talking heads who got their panties in a wad because Dan, who is unquestionably a true alpha male to all who behold him, referred to himself as a true alpha male.
Morton is a true beta male and knows it.
I wouldn’t equate a professional who has complimentary strengths to Dan’s as being a beta. Maybe Chris Spielman is a beta, too.
You tell him, I sure as hell ain’t.
OK, I will. I’ll text them from an undisclosed location right now.
Campbell is literally his boss.
He probably knows this is the last OC job he’ll ever have. So ride it as long as you can.
That’s the thing. Joe Lombardi is on his third OC job, two of which he didn’t call plays, the other was the Lions nightmare, where he did.
I wish i could have been Peyton Mannings OC. Thats collecting a check and getting free sideline tickets.
Yo me Dan is teaching Morton how to find and exploit a defensive weakness. Not just calling plays but attacking a weakness then setting up a counter move.
For example taking a deep shot is important but WHEN is more important. For a deep shot to work it is best to pull up a safety and make a DB think hitch or quick out or stop route. Running that side OR screen that side helps as the DB is being asked to come up.
Dan is teaching Morton how to set up a defense versus just calling plays.
Ironically enough their passing attack has died with Morton gone.
Obviously, Dan didn’t impart enough info to John boy about the core principles, or philosophy or whatever the secret is. Or maybe Morton didn’t process it properly. Who knows? But this offense is built a certain way to operate a certain way going on several years now. The tools are there. Use them all and ■■■■■■■ make something out if it.
Is Dan calling the plays again this weekend? I need to confirm before I play Jamo on my fantasy team.
You know who else doesn’t blink…serial killers
