Joker drops NBAs first ever 30-20-20 line

Absolutely absurd.

Because Wilt’s teammates couldnt shoot.

/s

Wilt did have a 22-27-21 game, taking only 13 shots in 48 minutes, and a 22-25-19 game where he played all 53 minutes. Assuming 8+ blocks too, because prior to 1973, they weren’t counted, but of the 136 games they could find footage of in the 60s/70s, Wilt averaged 8.8 blocks and Russell 8.1.

When you are topping Wilt, well, you are a Baaaad baaaad bad man.

Joker gonna make me redo my All Time Centers list, gonna crack the top 6, and may keep rising.

(Wilt/Hakeem/Kareem/Russell/Shaq/Jokic-Moses tie)

He is the most insane player I have ever really watched.

He reminds me of a more old school player that just knows the game and uses all the tricks. Like a Parrish from the Celtics. But with the shooting skills of Bird and rebounding of Barkley.

And he appears to be a great teammate. I do not watch much BB so he might be a DB but from the little I have seen he seems like a good dude.

Lots of defense played in that game lol

I don’t think that word is in the Joker vocabulary.

He’s been close before. Looks like he can get there this year.

If he does, could he win mvp once again?

Would pass Moses and tie Wilt with 4. 2 short of Kareem and 1 short of Jordan and Russell

How does he not win the MVP? SGA is amazing as well but this should be a no brainer.

I honestly don’t know if they can give him the MVP enough times to truly demonstrate how good he is.

SECOND ROUND draft pick in 2014.

ANYBODY could have had him, including teams that didn’t have their own 1st-rounder that year.

Not a guy that gets the defensive stats. He is big and alters shots, but so does basically every true post C that is in the top 15 conversation.

Hard for me to get him past #6 all time as a player deficient in that phase of the game at a position where it has been tradutionally probably the most important defensive position (debatable). Even given the change in the game play during his career that wasnt present before.

Why is Bill Russell ahead of him then(as he was not a good offensive player, but better than his stats show due to his d/rebounding/team committment)? Rings and he absolutely crushed RB and blocks in a way only Wilt did. Part of the era for thise 2, being insanely more athletic/talented? For sure, but not enough to consider dropping below 4 for me.

Agreed. It pains me to see that in the NBA the defensive side of the ball essentially isn’t a factor in how people assess greatness. The fact that Luka and Jokic are middle-of-the-road at best defensively doesn’t hurt their reps AT ALL compared to players (e.g., Giannis, Kawhi) who play both sides at a high level.
