So the situation changed over the following few days. And Dobbs was traded, not cut. It’s not analogous to being downsized/fired without warning in a regular job at all.

I got fired from a bartending job for calling in sick the day my Mom died. Now THAT was heartless & unethical. True story.

I spent my working life as an, “at will”, employee.
I was about to close on my first house, then, the mortage company told me I had been fired. My job was eliminated in a cost cutting measure.
I wasn’t supposed to know for another 3 hours.
I totally feel for Dobbs. The business world is cold.

Yup, got a call from my employer on a Friday evening saying that GM canned me. Along with about 2,000 of my contract buddies. Said, don’t come in Monday, we’ll pack you shit. Sad, never got to say goodbyes to some wonderful co-workers and never got the chance to get an email or phone number. I will NEVER buy or own a GM product ever again. ■■■■ them.
