He is a marginal player.
In all seriousness, fantastic signing. Gotta hand it to Brad. The lions needed to address 3 position groups and address them aggressively. Brad did that with the offensive line. Scruggs and Miller have been fantastic. There is nothing to suggest Mays won’t be a plus player as well. We have solid depth behind the starting line now with Scruggs and/or whoever loses the LG battle, mclaughlin looks promising. Borum is a liability but we have brought in 3 OL who are hitting.
Defensive line has improved a great deal.
Secondary is bad. But it was always going to be bad. And that sucks. Behind closed doors you would hear Brad and Dan talk about the secondary being a liability.

But tate and christian are marginal players…..I am so confused. These numbers must be wrong.

Absolutely. To most people, a missed block is the cost of doing business. Penei misses 1 block, and people are wondering if he is ok. That’s when you know about excellence, the smallest thing gets noticed because it’s “out of the norm”.

When vaki hip checked him and then the sack occurred that was that weird backward pass non fumble…..when i saw it originally i was like “WTF!!! Penei gave up a sack? what’s wrong? is he okay??!?!?”
then I saw the vaki hip check……and all was right with the world.
The Lions should never trade OL depth. Guys drop like flies.
