I do think JuJu would be a good target for the Lions to go after.
So don’t pay our own guy who has earned a new contract so we can pay someone else’s guy?
Just my two cents…JuJu would be a huge character play…but he isn’t worth the money that it would take to get him to come to Detroit. He isn’t coming to Detroit…he is more likely to take a lesser deal to stay in Pittsburgh and continue to win…He also isn’t a true number 1. He is a Robin to someone else’s batman. Love JuJu…gives 200% and is 23 years old…but not in Detroit.
Did not realize JuJu is only 23… seems like he’s been around forever
I didn’t realize that either. I thought his career was already on the downslope with the new talent there. I would have guessed 27.
If we do those Kenny G, then I want Allen Robinson. Michigan boy, and played for the bears.
I’m kind of over paying WRs huge dollars. They just don’t touch the ball enough IMO. I think if you can do kind of what we did, sign a middle FA like Jones, draft a tall fast kid with ok hands and then compliment the 2 of them you’re okay for 3-4 years, then do it again. opens up a lot more especially for defense dollars. Of course this depends on the rest of the team. We have 20% tied up in QB and that’s kinda big.
Exactly. Look I LOVE juju. literally the first word my 3 year old learned to say…
. But his eye popping numbers were w AB commanding double teams. He is a good run blocker, will always give you everything he has, takes more then one guy to tackle him. This weds he stiff armed a guy for 7 yards after the catch to get the first down on a 3-10. He is a great teammate. Steelers hope he becomes the next Hines ward and stays here his entire career. Steelers always give their guys one big deal and after that you have to take team friendly deals if you want to stay and keep winning. So a deal around 12-3 is but lower then the market…
Let the WR’s go, let Stafford go, just draft more linemen and running backs and run the Wishbone. Smashmouth every down.
I’ve been advocating keeping Kenny…but not at 20+ million a year. It’s basically up to him if he wants to price himself out of Detroit or not.
I have Allen Robinson in fantasy, and he’s a stud. He has the highest floor of any fantasy WR I think I’ve ever had. The dude always gets his numbers, and with some pretty crappy QB play and no other receivers really scaring teams.
Love Juju, but he’s definitely a complimentary receiver, therefore he’s not going to be worth what he gets on the open market… Sign players like Corey Davis, Wille Snead and Curtis Samuel for the same amount you’d pay for one Golladay (assuming the $22 million/year rumor is true)
How much do you think Corey Davis will get?
I’d guess about $10 million/year
That’s a really good question. If the cap shrinks, you’re going to see the market flooded with cuts. I don’t think he’s going to be able to get 10, not for next year, in fact I think you’re going to see a lot of guys on one year deals. I’m going to say he takes a one year, 5 mil deal.
I think you’re low.
There’s a lot of teams that are in serious cap doo doo
For the culture !
Yep, copycat kitties overpay for a successful teams average talent.
These last few seasons I thought it a troubling message to not reward their own , even if having to over pay a little.
I’d hope tre investment in those players , snd not always needing to leverage their own guys into team friendly deals while paying big - good money for outsiders … just sent a bad message to those players drafted by lions.
I bet players on lions thought Tate , Glasgow , KG , Slay can play … I bet they noticed when to get paid they had to get it eksewhere.
