Just relax and enjoy… Great things to come either way!

Den Family,

I know… we’ve waited so long, and we are so close…. or we WERE so close until the injuries right?

If the Vikes come in anc take our field… and then we lose in Tampa??? It would suck… BAD!!!

But we would be getting Alim, Hutch, AA and Monty back… spending on 2-3 big FAs, and hopefully drafting 2 defensive starters, and IOL and a WR to add to this base…

I’m sorry… if we lose AG and pay up for Saleh (from Dearborn) I won’t shed a tear.

If we add a JT Tuilmoloa and K Grant in the draft… and a CB and LB in FA… we will be a top 5 D…

Add an IOL player in rd 5, and sign Zietler… draft a WR in round 4 and we score 30 plus again next year…

Worrying about Justin Jefferson and Addison won’t change the outcome.

If Goff and company has zero turnovers we will win 100%.

If Darnold and company have 2 plus turnovers- we will win

Either way it’s been a great ride fellas and ladies. Buck up

This was kinda the way I felt last year after losing to SF. Heartbreaking, but no reason to think that we won’t have another very good to great season next year. As long as Holmes keeps doing what he does regarding FA and the draft, I can see us getting even better.

For the first time in forever, guys are going to want to come here to play for a winner. As a life time Lions fan……it seems weird to say that.

I think a lot about Buffalo with regard to these things.

Josh Allen is now in season 7, and is considered Super Man. He has no rings. He’s never even played in a Super Bowl.

They lost in the wild card in 2019.
They lost in the conference championship in 2020.
They lost in the divisional in 2021, 2022, and 2023.

And yet they’re still banging on that door, and most would consider them a Super Bowl contender if not outright favorite.

I think some times it’s easy to get ahead of ourselves. But two years ago, we didn’t make the playoffs. And three years ago, we were a CFL team.

I still have high hopes for this year, but moldy bread wasn’t that far back.

1000%. I was roasted this offseason for being the armchair GM…

Obviously Holmes has crushed his 3rd-4th rounders when used on “nfl ready”players.

Guys like Amon, McNeill, Iffy, Barnes and Kerby were expected to make rookie year impact, and outside of injuries from Iffy… they did…

We’ve since spent picks on Hooker, BroMart, Manu and Vaki…

So the fact that Myles Adams and Peko…. Possibly Teddy B…. skipper and Netflix are more NFL ready 1-2 years later was a big group of missteps.

I think not having 4 game day level players is hurting us, but we are still winning.

Let’s keep winning.

Not thinking about next year at all!
This year baby! This is the year!
I’ll start that line of thought when this one is officially done.

Some of the softball players in my league are Packer and Viking fans. Even though they root for their teams they all think the Lions are a better football team. All of them love Campbell, but a few think he is nuts.

As Dan said after the NFCCG last year, there’s no guarantee you can get back there.

The injuries this year show what can happen to the best laid plans.

Pedal to the metal. This game is huge. I think we really need to be on the winning end of it.

1000% brother.

Being upset or despondent about how Dildor, Nieman, Adams, Muhammad, Ezekiel, O’Connor and Nowaske match up up with Addison, J Jeff, Nailor, Hock, A Jones, and C Akers is a bit POINTLESS?

Terrion Arnold- 49 rating
Amik Robertson- 65 rating
Ifeatu Melifonwu- 67 rating
Dildor- 45 rating

Ben Niemann- 55 rating
JRM- 55 rating
Trevor Nowaske- 51 rating
E Turner- 45 rating

Josh Paschal- 55
Levi O- 66
Pat O’Connor- 46
Myles Adams- 55
Bro Mart- 43
DJ Reader- 65

Then we have…

Z Smith- 75
Jack Campbell- 75
B Branch- 78
K Joseph- 91

Unfortunately we DON’T have…

Hutch- 95
Alim- 80
C Davis- 75
D Barnes- 72
Anzalone- 66
Rodrigo- 75

Pretty tough to construct a defense when 65% percent of the starters are of the Benito Jones, Dildor ilk

Of course I want to win this year homie…. “GIVING UP?” I am watching from home with every superstition and good vibe I can muster, promise…. But if a bunch of Pat O’ Connor, Zeke Turner, Ben Neimann types can’t beat the Vikings, Eagles, Bills, etc I won’t lose any hope, faith or sleep about being a great team next year.

This isn’t “our shot” it’s actually a lower percentage shot than I expect to have next year. If the Lions finish #2 in the division the silver lining?

We are 8-0 the road… we’ve already seen the Bucs this year and there won’t be weather…

2025? We’d get the Falcons, Seahawks and Chargers instead of the Bucs, Chiefs and Rams…?

Good point on Josh Allen. This also applies to Baltimore.

There’s 0 reason why we should’ve beat GB. We were to thin.
Then we won…
F, did I just become an optimist? Dan changes us all.

Again…

Goff with 2,319 passing yards with 20 TDs and 1 int… 42 rushing yards and zero tds. 2 games under 71.9% completion out of last 7!!! Only one game under 101 rating in 7 games!

That is why we keep winning…

Lamar 1,566 yards passing 19 TDs and 2 ints….257 yards rushing and 2 TDs- Lamar has been under 68%in 4 of the last 7!

Josh Allen- 1,730 passing yards with 11 TDs and 4 ints. Josh has been under 68% completions in 6 of his last 7!!! He’s has a rating under 100 in 3 of his last 7!!! He also 330 yards rushing and 9 TDs…

So Jared has accounted for morello TOTAL yards… a better completion percentage… more passing TDs than either and has 1 less total TD than Lamar. I do presume if the Lions cared to, they could easily get 2-3 tush push TDs from Goff per year.

Over the full season? Goff isn’t in the MVP isn’t REALLY in the MVP convo, but over the last 7? Hell yes he’s carrying the team.

What Goff has done the 2nd half is QB play like we’ve never seen before in Detroit.

It’s a run rate of 5100 plus yards, 46 tds and 2 ints.

Just checked and I see that the NFC champ is the home team in this year’s SB.

That means, beat the Vikes and it’s blueberries all the way. Inside a dome on the fast track.

Yes, this is kind of a weird season. Typically, the talent difference between the 1 seed and the 5 seed is far greater than it is this season. But the road to hoe is still much more difficult for the loser here.

Inspiration for the losers (Vikes of course):

The 1999 Tennessee Titans posted a 13-3 record, earned a wild-card playoff spot and made a run to the Super Bowl, where they were defeated by the St. Louis Rams 23-16.

Because we are poor Detroit fans do we have the money to buy playoff ticket. I’m worried about suburb Vikings fans are going to buy all the playoff tickets
