The decision to pass on Fields will not only be the end of Holmes and Campbell, but that will be one of the all time worst draft decisions in the history in this franchise.
And I’ll be there to say that I told you so.

Pre season hot takes. Bro u worse than those Cade haters during summer league
And I still think Penei Sewell is going to be good because I’m not that ignorant, but I was told by many here that Fields was an exact replica of Dwayne Haskins and that he was physically incapable of playing any good NFL football at all because he doesn’t have a huge talent advantage among his receivers and he’s not in that 1 read offense and whatever.
It very well could be. Just because we literally gave him to a division rival. This draft will forever be about Sewell v. Fields. What will lessen the sting will be if we find a good QB next year. I don’t think it’ll happen, but hopefully.
Here is the official every play by fields from nfl.com
Justin Fields EVERY Play in Preseason Debut! (Dolphins vs. Bears 2021 Preseason Week 1) - YouTube
Can’t believe a football fan would say 1st preseason game at any position would be showcase for an entire NFL career.
Lmao I didn’t see no Haskins comps.
Far too early to say he does or doesn’t have multiple read professions
I agree that it will lessen the sting. There’s not another Justin Fields caliber talent in sight though. Malik Willis has a bigger arm and is more of a downhill runner, but he’s a lot less polished in his accuracy.
The game of football isn’t about who dominates the line of scrimmage anymore. That’s still important, but what matters is who your quarterback is and how talented he is.
Literally read any pre-draft Fields thread on this website.
Not gonna bother. One or two people don’t make the majority. I didn’t see any myself
You literally just put the guy in the HOF from a pre season game? How many other teams passed on him as well? I mean if you were team actually drafting a qb and passed on Fields to take one of the other guys wouldn’t that be an even bigger mistake?
Exactly. Dolphins, Eagles, Panthers, Broncos, Giants. All those teams with the exception of the Eagles are further ahead in rebuilds/ playoffs than us. U could even argue Goff is better than all the QBs on those teams
I watched the highlights here: Justin Fields EVERY Play in Preseason Debut! (Dolphins vs. Bears 2021 Preseason Week 1) - YouTube
He looked just ok to me. He forced some throws. His accuracy looked off a bit especially with the time he had. His legs are a huge asset but on running plays he didn’t slide once and went head first a few times. He won’t last a season if he always puts his body in jeopardy like that.
11, kind of, because the Giants traded out and could’ve taken him. How many teams passed on Aaron Rodgers? Every team, including the team he was drafted by, passed on Tom Brady. Good players don’t always go #1. Your point?
Yep, it is. The Jets and 49ers will be kicking themselves for years to come. Especially the Jets. It’s another thing for us because he went in division, and we kind of needed a QB. It’s less for the Vikings, because they were going to take him had he fallen to them, but they didn’t actually pass on him. I think Lawrence will actually be pretty good once Urban gets out of there, so the Jags won’t have much regret with what they did.
Lol this guy… you’re even limping the Jets and Niners in the convo when they haven’t even stepped on a field for pre season. seriously, your pre season hot takes are now far worse than the Cade haters during SL
Let’s review the teams that passed on him and whether they should’ve taken him…
JAX - Lawrence, ok pass
NYJ - Should’ve taken Fields
SF - Should’ve taken him
ATL - Should’ve taken Fields, but they didn’t have to like some teams.
CIN - I think Fields will be a lot better than Burrow, but they didn’t need to take Fields
MIA - I don’t think they should’ve taken him, but I think Fields will be a lot better than Tua. I don’t think they should’ve given up on Tua after 1 season like they didn’t
DET - Should’ve taken him
CAR - Should’ve taken him
DEN - Should’ve taken him, and you want to see an idiot in a front office? Look at George Paton. “There’s less franchise corners than quarterbacks in a draft, so we took Surtain”.
PHI - Hurts will be a lot better than most of you think, ok pass. They’ll wish they took him though.
NYG - should’ve just taken him. Daniel Jones sucks at everything except for running straight until he falls over.
I did…
I just watched the hi lights. Too early to tell, but he certainly looks to have a high ceiling, IMO.
That said, hoping for a giant crapstorm in Chicago.
I have no doubt there will be bumps on the road along the way in his development, but Fields is going to be a force in the NFC North.
perhaps you should wait until he plays a defense that actually schemes. Or when the nfl has a season worth of film to study before you put him in the hall of fame. Even trubisky had a good season before defenses figured him out.
