K- Cups

Keep your mitochondria active. Use it or lose it.

what? all I can see is those jugs .

Yeah, we’re watching out. Starting to move to glass for food storage… of course they have plastic lids or they don’t seal but baby steps.

Try Tim Horton’s. I use the Medium, but they make a Dark roast in K cups. #nojudgementzone

We haven’t figured out how to handle plastics as a society. The plastics garbage patch in the Pacific is sickening. NJ switched to no plastic bags a couple years ago. I think some states are following, but it a drop in the bucket.
I worry more about it from an environmental standpoint rather than a health issue.

Explains why Excedrin has caffeine in it.

Whoa. I think you mean half a pound for 10 cups?

Ideally yes, but not everyone likes my strong enough to give an elephant an aneurysm ideal brew. Those poor people don’t know what they’re missing out on.

I once worked at a place where they told me I was not allowed to make the coffee anymore for that reason. Not making that up.

Have you looked into reusable kcups? You can grind your own coffee and brew it that way. I have a ninja coffee maker that can use kcups but we buy bones coffee grind it into the reusable cup and brew.

I have some. Grind my own beans. Just looking for a K-cup when I don’t have the time and want a grab and go cup.

Order that Italian roast, not much of an investment to take a chance on.

100%!! The hot water and the plastic releases all kinds of toxins. I start the electric kettle, grind the beans, dump the grounds into the French Press, go to the bathroom and slap the Mrs. on the rear as she gets ready for work. By the time I get back, the kettle is boiling and I pour it into the press. I let it brew for 5 minutes and bam, all done. Takes a total of 10 minutes from the moment I enter the kitchen to pouring it into my mug.

Cafe Bustelo K cups are the only ones I find tasty.

In general life is too short for crap coffee but sometimes you have no time.

I live in a country where coffee grows on trees, but hell if I’m picking, drying and roasting the cherries. But even the cheapest stuff in the stores here is better than shit like Maxwell House.
Sometimes I splurge on the really good stuff.

Thanks for recomendations- @CasanovaJack1, @Spartansd, @3rdRGR - they are in my Amazon cart.

As for the warning of hot plastic toxic chemical posioning. Thanks!

Wish someone would have told my parents that during 70/80’s as I guzzled a 1000 gallons of water from a scorching garden hose for 16 summers! :joy:

A K Cup is 15 seconds, and you are pouring Chinese metals from the kettle with your boiling water into your coffee. Lol, just kiddin man… If you want coffee. It comes with a price… I pay it.

Well played. I have one for tea like that, but it has what “looks” to be a SST heating plate. Never seen an all glass one, but I’m in.

I have been looking for a stainless steel moka pot for years.

My favorite one is clearly aluminum which bothers me but the coffee……..
