Seams like a wash to me.
But hes staying in the West so thats a plus
His best days are way behind him.
Are Jalen Green and Booker able to coexist or is that the next shoe to drop?
I don’t know that I would have given up Jalen green in that deal Durant to me doesn’t have a lot left in the tank. Maybe it means they want to have payroll flexibility for amen Thompson.
Also at the time I’m pretty sure I called out that contract for Fred VanNotFleet to be garbage and it sure looks like it
I agree. Green has the whole bag but the mental part of the game is still lacking. But he’s 23 and he may age out of the decision making headwinds he currently encounters.
I could see Green getting flipped for more assets
Isk if they keep Brooks either
Booker will bring more back I’d imagine. I also think Green’s absolute upside is higher then Booker’s.
Booker is hard to say, cause i dont think either side wants to go separate ways but the Bradley Beal contract has been horrific
For sure. But Beal off the ball with Green as the ball dominator seems to work better than playing Booker and Beal together. IMO. I suppose that depends on what they can do in the draft. Like if they could move up a bit and secure Fears and then play both Beal and Booker off the ball I’d like that setup. But would Booker?
I think the Rockets got fleeced on this deal
Rockets definitely got fleeced. Glad Pistons didn’t make this kind of trade for him.
and is cheaper by 20m for a couple years
I was thinking about the draft last night. Though it doesn’t fill the spot up shooter/rim protector big need, if Jase Richardson’s stock is truly falling to 20ish then he should be the Piston’s trade up target. They have enough backcourt playmaking size to handle a 6’o" 2G/CG and if he was 6’4" he’s likely a top pick. You get shooting but don’t have make the athleticism compromises you typically would when adding high level shooting that late but just have to live through the size constraints. It reminds me of the Cam Thomas situation and that pick has certainly outperformed its slot. You would think that given Jase’s pedigree he’d be a quick study in terms of the NBA game and often more importantly initially the lifestyle/travel grind issues.
They should definitely keep drafting Shooters until they got somebody that can’t fit them on their roster. That said I’m not sure he’s the guy he’s the guy for that size reason. Seem to not to fit the team set up. Now maybe he is Tim Hardaway Jr the third all over again as far as carving out a nice career as a legacy as a spot up shooter but the D part is just going to be so hard at 6 ft. Not that TJ3 plays and D anymore but he did at one point
And I think the answer for Phoenix is probably trading Booker at this point and restocking. Build around green whatever else they can get and what they get in the draft and then hit free agency hard next year
I don’t think he’s as much of a high difficulty shot maker AA Cam Thomas but I think he’s more likely to assimilate into a team approach then Cam. I was thinking of him more as a Microwave super sub type then a starter.
That Wall/Beal backcourt turned out to be the anti Isaiah-Dumars backcort. Total puss out overpaid never won shit Supreme clown hour
I would tend to agree. Is Detroit the spot for Booker?
Because, Washington. Thats the city’s special product to the world. Massive ovwrpay underperform I got mine eff the rest
