Kerby Joseph: I envisioned leading league in interceptions this year

Kerby basically won the game last night…we really couldn’t stop them. But Kerby made 2 game changing plays. The 1 was a gift from Purdy for sure but hey he caught it. They were driving for points on both ints.

Lets get another 2 picks next week Kerby!!!

I agree with this, Kerby stepped up when we needed it. The first one was a bad throw from Purdy, but this is what people don’t seem to get. This IS the effect of our offense. Purdy felt like they had to score every single time they touched the ball, because our offense was scoring. Purdy made a mistake, and we took advantage of it. That mistake most likely doesn’t happen if the 9ers have a comfortable 2 score lead. Pressure causes people to do things they normally wouldn’t do 9 times out of 10.

The second pick was definitely more impressive, and was straight Kerby being Kirby. He sat on that route because the 9ers were using that as their money route the whole first half. As soon as he saw the alignment, he knew he was jumping that route and he lurked it the whole way.

Ryan Clark on the post game said it right, if you are the Vikings, you’ve been doing your damage over the middle of the field with Darnold. Now you will have Branch and Kerby waiting on those routes. You may get away with it for awhile, but all it takes is a couple of plays to flip a game.

Nine interceptions is crazy. He’s making a name for himself. I don’t think any of them are from Rodgers either.

Also not sure why they abandoned the run, cause it was working. The game was real close in the 3rd quarter… Yet they got pass happy. Kerby made them pay.

Would be the highest paid safety in the nfl… But you could be right. The cap keeps going up

I can’t see how he can’t demand it, or that BH won’t deliver it. I think history is showing he’ll get it next year and won’t have to wait until FA. Probably the right move. Dude is home grown and gives you everything you could want. Paying him a year early is a bit of a nod to how underpaid he’s been on his 3rd round rookie deal. I usually am for exploiting making a great value pick. But when a guy is one of the best in the NFL in year three, I wouldn’t want to mess around. He can still get better and his range/versatility/instincts/ball skills combination is elite.

I don’t know how many 20 plus per year dudes we can afford, but we’re going to find out because we have so many guys earning that type of cabbage.

For sure… Great problem to have though. But Hutch, Branch and Kerbs…that’s a shit ton of $$$

At the beginning of the year, I wouldn’t have included Kerby in the extend-early group with Hutch, but he’s forced his way into that conversation.

No doubt! I will also give props to Glenn for the halftime adjustments he made in the 2nd half.

I think signing him early gives you a chance to get a better team number.

You know they are paying Hutch and Branch to me is a must have guy.

Off topic but man Decker was getting abused by Bosa last night. I get it Bosa is all pro and Decker is on the back end of his career but it was bad

He’s all of that and he needs anger management just like Brian Branch. The game thread had a few “idiot” comments, but 2 more interceptions and a PFF season grade of 90.7 buys a lot of forgiveness.

I said it last night and will say it again. I normally am not for retalatory penalties, but that one was warranted. Jennings was clearly trying to send a message and was taking liberties with Arnold. That was beyond excessive. Kerby ran over, and literally knocked Jennings into the 2nd row. Guess what? Jennings calmed the hell down for the rest of the game too. Dude got owned, and he knew it. It also fired up the whole team.

There are plenty of chances to get even with guys between the whistles, but to me this was like when a guy takes a shot at your QB. As an Olineman, you better be standing up for your guy. It’s like when the Saints clown was grabbing at Herbert’s ankle, and got absolutely pile drived by the offensive tackle. As a coach, the only words I am saying to that player is “good job, we will pay for any fine that happens.”

On his scuffle with 49ers WR Jauan Jennings:

“Yeah, I don’t play that. No, I don’t play that, especially about my rook. That’s my rook, I don’t let nobody play with my rook, man. That’s my rook. I’m the only one that gets to mess him up and do whatever I do with him. I don’t play that. I feel like, man, I’m my brother’s keeper man. I feel like when my guys are in trouble, it’s my job to protect them. I want to say, I apologize to my team, man, because I put us in a rough situation. I have to keep my cool on that. But also, man, I’m gonna ride for my brother and I’m gonna protect him no matter what, right or wrong. I’m gonna have his back.”

Oh, I’m sure Rodgers has a few name’s for Kerb. None that we would agree with.

I was a little pissed when he first did it but afterward I was proud of him for sticking up for the rookie. He leveled him pretty good. Fixed his ass.

He was an idiot but also how could you not be?

I’ve been saying it all year.
Hutch & Kerby both will be extended early this offseason.
