Kerryon or MoveOn?

Is Kerryon the RB Detroit tries to franchise or do they move on from this mess?

Gotta assume KJ won’t be healthy for a full year in any given year. Need to draft a starting RB (or sign one if there’s a good fit in free agency). Lions can’t afford another half season from KJ.

But I’m not giving up on Kerryon. I hope this is the last serious injury he has for long time. Dalvin Cook has also struggled with injury early in his career. I’m hoping for a bounce-back season from KJ. And add a guy who can be a real starter if he’s hurt. I like what they have in McKissic and Ty Johnson, they’ve sort of got the bottom end of the depth chart manned up. But they need to add a stud RB this offseason.

Good RB that can’t be counted on be cause of brittleness. Not his fault…damn

Are we moving on from Hand too?

There is a great pun here somewhere.

Hand will always be there for you…

Who knows. It seems like the Lions have a new batch of Ziggy’s to think about.

I was really excited about Kerryon last year and then this year, even when he was healthy, he was just a below average RB in every category.

It doesn’t really make sense to build around any RB these days. The O core should really be QB-LT-#1WR-TE

This. Running back by committee w a stud leading the way. KJ is a stud but isn’t an every down stud…but damn he would be dangerous if he can be healthy and plying robin to a 250 touch type of heavy hitter.

yeah but we have seen what great RB’s CAN do for their team, so to ignore the position totally doesn’t help.

I think they used him too much. He just ain’t the bell-cow RB, you gotta go with RBBC and limit his snaps. Maybe he woulda got hurt anyway, but less action means lower risk.

I might catch hell for this, but if I’m the Lions I go shopping for an FA RB, a bruiser. And draft one too, but not until day 3. That’s cuz they’ve got other needs that IMHO are more urgent.

I don’t care if they draft a RB with pick #2 , but the 1st pick better be a go66amned 6ood pass rusher ! the defense better be MUCH improved heading out of the offseason !

Besides the Kerryon issue, it’s just astonishing that the Lions haven’t found a consistently notable back, since Barry left.

I fully agree with your stance on not building around a RB. If you suddenly find yourself with Adrian Peterson, Zeke Elliott or Saquan Barkley…you have some thinking to do. But for everyone else, it makes no sense. You draft a guy, then you draft another guy to rotate with him and then another guy to back those guys up as well as rotate with them. Its not hard. Don’t complicate things.

He’s a solid backup playing on his rookie contract.
My guess is he will be with the team until game six next season when he will be traded for a 5-7 round pick…
And the following week our starter will go down with an injury leaving us with a 1.8 ypc run game.
Just a guess.

Draft a RB high (never 1st rd) Each year until we hit. We need a freaking running game to win.

Can’t count on him. Gotta get a RB in a deep class. Laugh all u want, but Bellamy from WMU could be that guy if u don’t want to spend Rd 1 or 2 on it.

Draft a rb high next year and make kj #2. Less load, less injuries.

I’d be open to a rb in the 1st round.

Imagine having Zeke or cook or mccafrey. It can be worth it for the right guy.
