I get the hype, they finished strong in 2023.
So we wait and see how J Love progresses and how defenses adapt to him, plus the rest of the young Packers (growth).
What does this all mean? I mean its not shocking people think the lions can win it all
Youāre not wrong, Iām just looking at it from the perspective of pundits that are high on them. An ascending young team that had a big time playoff showing is going to get people hyped. Sort of similar to the Lions two years ago.
As usual, much of their fate will.rest on the QB shoulders. If Love continues to progress, theyāll be a contender and if not theyāll be a pretender most likely unless they win in spite of him.
Theyāre just so inconsistent, I have trouble seeing them changing their stripes.
And thatās especially true of Love.
He got insanely lucky with some of his decisions last year. A different year and he leads the league in picks. He makes some borderline indefensible throws. Heās got arm talent, heās fairly accurate and he manipulates the pocket really well, so if he gets his decision-making under control he could definitely be great. But right now I donāt see it.
Iām not just anti-GB because of our history. Well, I am, but thatās not why I donāt think theyāre all that great. I have legitimate concerns about 1) Love, 2) the actual talent of their WR room, 3) their LBs (especially if Cooper is hurt), 4) their DBs outside of Jaire.
Iām also not that high on LaFleur, though I can admit he was probably behind last seasonās turnaround. But he did that by completely changing everything they did. An actual 180 midseason. It took opponents by surprise, and I donāt think itās sustainable.
Very true. I canāt stand those ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā¦ But they did show some flashes of greatness last year. And I was even cheering for them over the Cowboys in the playoffs. Who I canāt stand even more than the Packers. Top 2 most hated teams by far.
Yep, itās hard to ignore how good they looked in the playoffs and against the Lions on Thanksgiving for that matter.
I do get what @Thats2 is saying about Love and his lob throws magically finding the mark all too often but that team is stacked with talent and are coached by a very good coach. Theyāre a problem.
With that said, ā ā ā ā 'em forever and always.
I think we are going to see the real Jordan Love this year and it will not be what many are predicting. I think he is closer to mid-tier/game manager-bridge QB than elite franchise QB. Think GB gets exposed this year.
Green Bay?!?!?! It disgusts me how every media person swings on their nuts forever, and ever. Can they win? Maybe. They had a great comeback run, but Iām not picking them thatās for sure. Gosh I hope they have their worst season ever.
I agree with this one-hundo
Some thoughts here:
1- I also think Love will regress, he feels more like Dak than Mahomes
2- Again this has been said but if the Lions can stay healthy in the Oline they have a real chance. But they have almost zero depth upfront
3- I can not help but laugh at the Lions winning it all and coming on here to read on how the Lions have screwed themselves for the future by wasting a pick on Manu
4- I am actually also a bit concerned if the Lions win it all for my own health as I am sure I have made some variant of the statement āif the Lions could just win a SB I could die a happy manā¦ā I need to maybe reword that as I feel like it infers some immediate action and reaction.
True all day and twice on Sunday.
