Not gonna lie… I don’t like him being added to Flores’ defense.
The Viking Vans (Van Noy and Van Ginkel) are both crafty blitzers.

I definitely don’t like that move either. They are going to be able to bring a lot of different looks and pressures and disguised blitzes. I wish Flores would go be a HC somewhere already.

Not overly happy about it either. If you want to feel better just remember the following:
Age: 35
2025 sacks: 2
Only been over 6.5 sacks 2 times in 12 seasons
Granted those two times were 23/24 but he immediately regressed to 2 sacks in 15 games (13 starts) last year. Adding in that he is certainly on the wrong side of 30 and idk what minnesota will get out of him.
Regardless i am still frustrated that we were unable to utilize him to his strengths back in the day.

Vikings def was the reason lions missed the playoffs and few other reason. They literally knew how to stop the lions offense last year

Any single loss was the reason we missed (mathematical we missed by 1 game), vikings were certainly a big part of it.
The two Viking losses cost us the division. If we win both of those games, the Lions win the NFC North. They would tie the Bears for wins, but win the tiebreaker for head to head record and also the division record.

Didnt remember the division being that close interesting, but comment was about playoffs not just division. Playoffs we missed by a single loss right?

Yes. If the Lions had won one more game, they would’ve finished with a 10-7 record. The Packers got the last wild card spot at 9-7-1. This was why the Christmas game was so important. Or even the Steelers game. We lost to a 3rd string QB who isn’t even an NFL roster player now, who put up about 50 yards passing. We lost, because we could not block any Viking from tearing our backfield new ones.

Not necessarily trying to downplay the importance of winning in division especially when the vikings offense was morbid.
But scoring 9 against the eagles when they scored 16, being unable to stop the steelers running game, collapsing in the second half against the rams, or either vikings game all equally contributed to us missing the playoffs.
Absolutely true. For me, the Eagles game was Dan Campbell panicking. He lost us that game. If he chooses to punt, and play field position at pretty much any point, the Lions easily win. Dan saw that game as needing to put his foot down and was like a gambler who keeps doubling down, expecting the losses to turn to wins.
The Eagles were NOT good when we played them. The Bears beat the shit out of them less than 2 weeks later. The Giants also beat the ever living shit out of them 2 weeks prior, in a game I literally watched the big, bad Eagles defense quit and stopped even trying to tackle Skattaboo.
