Their defense is significantly better. And they’ve had IMO the best offensive player in the league for several years running. And their coaching is outstanding.
But IMO the Packers have a significantly better roster.
Alexander and Watson are both likely out. Not because they are “resting,” but because they can’t play at a higher level than replacement and could risk further injury.
Fans confuse playing sore with playing injured. We pretend guys play injured far more than they do. They often play sore if it doesn’t inhibit their movement. QBs probably play hurt or sore more than most, followed by OL.
I had my knee drained twice during my clubs invite. I’m willing to share the photo of what the doc pulled out in three large syringes. I couldn’t have jogged to save my life. I basically drank double vodkas like water, and swung with all my weight on just my back leg for the first 2 rounds. After the drain on day 3 and 4 I could golf and finally walk slowly without a limp.
The injured guys aren’t resting for strategy, it’s also because they can’t actually run and jump.
We hear high ankle and think about a fantasy team. In reality think neck sized ankle, can’t put on a shoe, black and blue, hot to the touch…. You simply cannot play on that period.
These guys have wear and tear we will never understand, but they aren’t “toughing out” torn ligaments.
Air,
It’s not that serious. I don’t deserve to be strangled just yet!!! It’s just a discussion but I personally would be rereading what I had written if multiple people were telling me the same thing. I wouldn’t be so quick to double down.
We can’t all be crazy, ya know?
I also thought it was odd that you started an entire topic on this that was being discussed in a different thread. You’re thread was more robust though.
I just think the rest thing has been way overblown here.
I hope we are discussing resting our key players come Tuesday
I really think Dan is going to be concerned about two weeks of rust. I’m expecting a Preseason approach. Go through the normal practice week and give them a couple series or even a half and then sit them. Much like the Pack did against us in 2021.
Players practice and don’t play in that weeks game all the time. It happens every week.
For example, The Lions did it this week with Raymond.
GB in particular has done it often this season so the players not playing Sunday is normal operating procedure, not resting.
You would have a case if a player had 3 Full Practices on the weeks practice report and didn’t play.
GB is not resting any healthy players.
Let’s hope those healthy players beat the Vikings.
Win all 5 and we are SB champions. Only 2 other teams can say that, KC & Minnesota.
Let everyone else worry about who wins vs who. We only need to focus on the one in front of us.
Destroy SF. They will be missing multiple starters on O-line. They have nothing to play for. I expect SF to play tough in the beginning but to trail off at the end.
Yep. And of the five, only one would be a true road game, and that’s against the weakest opponent on the slate (SF). The SB in NOLA would probably favor America’s team (DET).
It is a rivalry game between the Vikes and Packers. Saying the Packers have nothing to play for is like saying the Lions win in Green Bay 2022 wasn’t sweet because the Lions could not make the playoffs! That was a GREAT win regardless and I get Lion players LOVED beating Rodgers in his last Green Bay game.
The Packers lost to the Vikes in Minny by 2 points in week 4. I believe the Packers want to keep the Vikes from winning the division AND they want to feel awesome heading into the playoffs. Lose to the Vikes in a game that matters and that will hurt the Packers to a degree. If you can’t beat the Vikes at home and you face them in Minnesota how can the Packers win that game. If GB beats the Vikes today they will feel like they OWN the Vikes and if they play in Minny in the playoffs they will feel like revenging their 2 point loss earlier. Minny will have to wonder how good they are as they will have lost a game that mattered and could not beat a division rival on the road with another road game coming up next week.
The Packers have a lot to play for at this point. I think this will be a hell of a game and the Packers WANT to play the role of spoiler while getting an edge over the Vikes.
If the Packers are starting Love they are playing to win.
