It’s not automatic on NFI and PUP contracts. The team can choose to pay a portion of the salary and have that right or not.

One positive on Levi is he had the ACL surgery before training camp last year. He got injured in the off-season. It’s usually an 8 to 12 month recovery so by training camp next year he will have already had over a year to rehab and train.
Whereas Alim came back last year from an ACL tear but had only had like 9 months to recover before he was playing

Not according to the CBA Article 20: Other Provisions, Section 2 Physically Unable to Perform:
Any player placed on a Physically Unable to Perform list (“PUP”) will be paid his full Paragraph 5 Salary while on such list. His contract will not be tolled for the period he is on PUP, except in the last year of his contract, when the player’s contract will be tolled if (i) he is still physically unable to perform his football services as of the sixth regular season game; and (ii) he is not reinstated to the Club’s Active/Inactive List during that regular season or postseason. For the avoidance of doubt, if the player returns to practice, but is never reinstated to the Club’s Active/Inactive List during that regular season or postseason, his contract will toll.
It clearly says it tolls automatically, now usually a team can cut said player without any repercussions, but with Levi there is/was guaranteed money involved.
Yea it looks like Levi has guaranteed money on the books. So no point to cut him unless the Lions have 10DL better than him. (lol not happening)
Paschal looks like doesn’t have any tho. So if they want they could cut but he’s virtually league min. So whats the point
