First non-marquee week 1 game in a while, probably because we have to turn around and play in a very marquee game the following Thursday opening up Buffaloâs stadium.
I looked recently at other âstadium openingâ first home games, and while the vast majority are very close, I could only find one loss by the home team: the Cowboys losing to the NYG when Jerryworld opened.
Carolina vs Detroit on Sunday Night Football, didnât see that coming
Giants home week 16 MNF
Was kinda hoping that one would be part of a boring early Sunday slate. While home team advantage has dwindled league-wide year over year, prime time games are still holding strong. Home teams win during the Sunday afternoon slate at a 52% clip, while that number rises to 55% on Monday night, 57% on Sunday night, and a whopping 61.5% on Thursday night. Drunk, rowdy fans firing up the home team.
No travel is definitely a huge help on a short week⌠Unless itâs Thanksgiving apparently ![]()
Yea and we are blessed to be Buffaloâs opponent on the debut of their new stadium.
So 5 Nationally televised games so far, which is always nice for us out of Staters.
@ Minnesota week 15 SNF
If I had my way all their games would be on Sunday afternoon exclusively. The national attention is fun and exciting at times, but all I want is good football and the Ws. All these funky times are messed up and I agree with Dan that playing every Sunday afternoon is just fine.
Until the playoffs, at least ![]()
3 of our last 4 games will be divisional games.
And bad news for possible bye week between Germany and Thanksgiving. Bears are playing a game the week prior.
So if the lions play a game that week too they both will be on short weeks. But lions could get a bye Bears on short weeks lions on long week
I will be that guy
Can you put the games, as they become known, in order in the OP?
On the other hand, the Bears play Friday Night Christmas for Week 16, while we play Monday Night Week 16 â and then we face off against each other Week 17. Bears will get a 3-day advantage for rest.
So itâs only fair that we get a Week 11 bye before we play them on Thanksgiving.
You know itâs a slow news time period when there are 8 pages of articles on the Lions schedule and nothing else when searching for âDetroit Lionsâ âNewsâ.

Probably a good time to start another Bigfoot thread.
