no QB is going to come here and drastically change anything “right now” why not keep Stafford…save that 20milion, (he’s not going to be around much longer IMO anyway) work on the defense, WR unit, maybe nab a QB Matt can help groom…and gain more cash by the trades/cuts that are made…because we need an O-line guy, LB’s , WR, maybe a S, or CB, or QB or DT, DE…then, when Matt goes we have something more for the new QB?
maybe next years class of QB’s blows this one away?? and we save more cash -then if Stafford goes elsewhere.
Its $33M to play him and $19M to let him go. I’d rather just go ahead and play the guy for the extra $14M. Our options are alot better going into 2022. I definitely wouldn’t restructure.
We shouldn’t be surprised though. It’s all about making money, the NFL are as greedy as they come. They’ll be playing a 20 game season, with 0 preseason games before long.
