Doesn’t mean anything other than the Lions are doing their due diligence as they do with all prospects. They spent a lot of time with Kayvon T, but drafted the better DE instead.

The dude is a giant and the Lions love guys who can bulldoze their man in the run game. But they also put a premium on getting to the second level, and that takes the kind of endurance a near 370 lb man may struggle with.

He also struggles with his giant cement feet. He needs to lose about 40 lbs before he should be thought of as a potentially good NFL tackle.

I might have said this on here already but I want to state this loud and clear for the record:
If we draft Kadyn Proctor, in any round, for the first time in his tenure, I will be officially calling for Brad Holmes to be fired. There is NO defending that pick.
The only way it could possibly work out is if he loses at least 40 lbs. I don’t think he’s going to do that.
Fortunately, I think he’s smarter than that.

He doesn’t really do anything that particularly well except be big. This means that he usually won’t be bulldozed into the QB, and he’s not going to lose any ground, but he doesn’t gain ground either.
If he matches up against our “can crushing” dogshit DEs, he’ll do fine, but the second he faces anyone who has even a bit of quickness or lateral ability to their pass rush bag, he’s done at this level.

My reaction to the Petzing hire was reactionary.
My reaction to drafting Kadyn Proctor would be based on having watched every college game that Kadyn Proctor has played in his three years at Alabama.
I also would like to remind everyone that I was a big Holmes supporter when we were 4-19-1. Go look for the receipts if you don’t believe me.

How good is Alabama’s Oline coach? That to me is a key piece of context here when discussing if Proctor should be considered or not.
If Alabama’s Oline coach is a plus coach, then being nervous about Proctor might be the right approach. If Alabama’s Oline coach is average-below average than you might be looking at a player you can still get a lot more out of

Kadyn Proctor is on my radar as our first round pick, whether at #17 or trading back to 21 or so. Yes, he could benefit from losing a little weight. He doesn’t turn 21 until June, so he’s not a finished product. OT Monroe Freeling is blipping on my radar too. I’m not sure Brad has it in himself to trade back with primary picks.

I think if we move him to OG, he’s kinda worth that 1st round pick, but even then… yea his feet are cement as HSV said. I do think that if we do take Proctor it would be… not great ngl

He got fired…because he was very very bad at his job.
Horrible technique all the way around, except from Brailsford pre-injury, and he was so small that it didn’t really matter.
I wanted him to get fired after the 2024 season, and I was very upset that they brought him back for this year.
Thankfully he finally got fired.
But due to Proctor’s issues mostly being size and overweight based, I’m not sure how much good Fraley could do with him.
For example, the OL coach isn’t fixing his cement feet. Losing 40 pounds might fix his cement feet.
