This sucks if this indeed happens
Ford field will lose that blue collar feel
I can tell you this happened at M&T field in Baltimore
This is bound to be a thing if the Lions keep winning.
When the Montreal Canadiens were in their heyday in the 70s and scored a goal, it would be mostly polite applause. Like they were at the freaking opera.
Ticket prices go up. Only the “sophisticated”, champagne and bourbon crowd can afford it.
This was the thing with the Pistons.
Bingo
The same thing happened with the Pistons once upon a time.
Great minds…
We should be paid to be here frankly.
Will only get worse as diehards get priced out. My season tickets went up a ton for next year and will keep increasing YOY. The same thing happened with Toronto Maple Leafs. Used to be extremely loud at leaf games but the prices are now so high it’s mostly corporate suits in the seats. Very few diehards and now it’s a library in Toronto.
There is the economic factor, but also the hunger angle. Even rabid fans would less vocal with a SB or two under their belt.
This is pathetic. I hate this. When is too much money going to be enough money for these people?
Lions tickets next year are right around league average and have some of the cheapest concession prices in the league
That’s fine and dandy but the prices are still insane.
I just spent the last three hours manslpaning to my elderly mom on rye.
I think bourbon is sufficient to get the job done
That especially happens when teams raise prices that put the price of tickets out of range of regular fans and the tickets all get sold to corporations that give the tickets away to much lesser fans. That’s pretty much what happened in Toronto with the Leafs. Seems like I just read a story about Lions increasing ticket prices.
Yeah for sure. But also anticipating your first time getting laid is not the same as the thousandth time. So there’s that too. Both factors.
I’ve been on the other side of that where corporations gave me the free tickets. It was nice. I had a suite at Comerica Park right next to Bill Ford Jr. We had our own parking, catered food, etc, etc, it didn’t really even matter that the baseball team sucked or that I wasn’t a big baseball fan.
I have long had issue with an expensive stadium experience.
I feel like 95% of the money for these teams comes from the TV money and the in stadium profits are hardly worth anything.
The tickets should not ever be pricing loyal fans out.
Sorry but keeping the blue collar vibe is crucial. Also of people misbehave you can boot them.
I literally see no real benefit to the Lions and the bottom line by raising season tickets much if anything at all.
Went to the Rams playoff game last year and it felt on par with the Silverdome in terms of loudness.
And those tickets were insanely expensive.
I wonder if it’s more to do with expectations than pricing anyone out, or maybe a combination of both.
I also want to point out that somehow Lions fans can afford to travel to away games around the country but not their tickets in Detroit?
I agree it may not be as loud but I’m skeptical of theories as to why.
