Lions believe DJ Wonnum is great complement to Aidan Hutchinson

Hoping more so for D Moore

I am just glad they are finally done saying “What do you mean you want DE help? We have Hutch!”

Now, not only do we have Hutch, but even Hutch’s help has options. Wonnum, Moore, Hass and even O’Neill down at the very end of the defensive roster can all rush.

Last year, this team was still trying to tell everyone that Marcus Davenport was DE2… :skull:

Wonnum had 8 sack seasons in 2021 (Danielle Hunter had 6 & Everson Griffin had 5), and 2023 (Hunter had 16.5 and no one else had more than 3).

I also think he’s a great compliment, with the sole caveat being he plays good. Like every other f_cking player.

I kinda think Myles Garrett would be a great complement to Aidan Hutchinson.

Woah… Team thinks player they signed will be a good player for their team… Amazing journalism

The Dline looked great in preseason. Even without Hutch. I expect them to be a big moral boost.

Im hoping Moore turns into an Ansah type playing along side Hutch

You want Moore on the sidelines In street clothes 60% of the time?

I want wannum to have a career season and get a huge contract elsewhere. Then Moore takes over with the same results. Give me those beans for cornerback depth in the future!

Quite the exaggeration…Ansah’s first 5 years in the NFL he played at least 13 games and that was on a 16 game schedule. In those 5 years he had 8, 7.5, 14.5, 2 and 12 sacks. Sure I would take that along side Hutch

It was lighthearted humor. Not a serious post.

Oh ok cool because I seriously don’t expect Moore to be Julius Peppers but as a Robin to Hutch’s Bat Man I love to get 8-10 sacks out of Moore

I’m happy with a cliff Avril career. He doesn’t need to be a star. He just has to be good enough to help hutch fill that role.

I’d take that too…I didn’t even think of Avril and Avril is probably more comparable to Moore than Ansah is… :100:

Likely because Avril had his best years with Seattle. We can’t remember them all. Getting old sucks. Lol

Well Cliff got 39.5 sacks in 5 years with Detroit and 34 sacks in 5 years with Seattle. His tackles, assist and TFL were about the same between the two teams…but he did win a Super Bowl in Seattle so I will give that the Trump card!

With Suh and Fairley getting all of the attention, it was different for him too
