Thinking this is why they had a streak of signing all the back ups/special teams players.
It kinda sounds like he’s decided to try and run with players who have been in the league a year or more (At the bottom of the depth chart) instead of trying to develop a young long term depth guy. He has the cap space to have veteran depth as opposed to cheap developmental players.
This also makes me think he may try to trade up from his later picks. Most of the 5th round and later picks don’t make the roster and usually end up on the PS anyway.
Never thought of the trade up possibility for that reason. Makes sense.
And this will be part of the excuse that a 4-12 Quinn/Patricia regime will be brought back in 2021. The Fords really are too cheap to fire them with 2 years left on their contracts.
If they fail this year, they need to can them both…hopefully. So tired of rebuilding with this team.

Actually, the way it works with competent sports franchises is, you suck, you draft high, you amass talent, you win.
Seems like the Lions have been stuck in mediocrity forever. Never truly rebuilding from the ground up. Just floating in a void in the middle of mediocrity.
100% accurate. Never a true rebuild. Non stop purgatory.
Agree - and here to hoping this year we see change in a good way.
Other than the 4 Caldwell years, the Lions haven’t tasted mediocrity this century.
