We’ve had two active roster additions since last Thursday and we still haven’t put Branch on IR. Not sure why, MCDC said he already had surgery.

also, aren’t waiver claims required to be on the roster 3 weeks or is it just that you have to pay a minimum of 3 weeks? Was surprised to see Rucci cut after just claiming him.

Rucci was claimed off waivers. The 3 week rule applies when someone is poached directly off of a practice squad.

I’m pretty sure, just reading the tea leaves, that Kerby is probably done for the year so, yeah, the Lions need to load up on any available bodies to fill the roles. All the Tight Ends and Safeties are out long term it seems, gonna be rough sledding down the stretch.

With Zylstra practicing and the 2 TE cuts, I have to assume the corresponding move for Branch to IR will be Zylstra off of IR.

The way Dan was talking in the presser it sounded like they wanted him to get to the point when he can merely string practices together which indicates to me that he’s a ways off from playing a game. Just based on his tone, it doesn’t sound good IMO so I’m basically projecting that I don’t see him coming back this year. I could be wrong of course and hope I am.
