Best news I’ve heard in a while.

It’s interesting that both times this came up with Dan he tried to walk it back and say that it was a tall task for CJGJ and Houston to return despite each of them saying they would.

Dan and the staff purposely overestimate injuries in press conferences in my opinion

Maybe they do it not put public pressure on guys to come back before they should

Makes sense when you consider they are former players themselves and know 1st hand what that does

Saw it yesterday, but wasn’t sure it was legit.
Wanted to hear that The Lions OK’d it.
Awesome news for us!

I’m looking forward to hearing James Houston is coming back. Getting help in our secondary and our pass rush would be most excellent.

Fans pin a lot of hope on players that have limited production… Everyone was crowning Houston and Kerby in the offseason, expecting huge years from them. Well, Kerby has been a gigantic disappointment this season, one of the worst starters on defense IMO. I hope Houston can come in and provide some pressure opposite Hutch, but don’t be surprised if he has little to no impact.

Excellent Bill And Ted GIF - Excellent Bill And Ted Happy ...

I agree here but fans just assume guys like Kirby and Houston would continue to improve on where they were at the end of the season.

It doesn’t seem like Kirby is playing good football, but we also don’t know the context of the playcalls. Is he trying to cover up for the lack of footspeed from Walker and/or Jacobs out there? Just because he’s in the area when a big play happens doesn’t necessarily mean he’s the one who got beat.

Getting CGJ back will be a major boost to the secondary. His presence should boost the play of all of the other guys out there.

Only if he can take Jacobs place or at least shadow Jacobs guy

This isnt just getting back an expected major contributor but a playmaker and attitude/leader on the defense that has lacked since he went out.

CJGJ isn’t a good man coverage guy.

He’s better in zone

Excellent news
It might take them a game or two to get back to full speed
If the oline can stay healthy then the Lions can make it interesting in the playoffs

The combo of Joseph & CGJ is more appealing than the combo of Joseph & Iffy.

He is going to make a difference when he is back but I double we see him before Dallas.

Is Irvin or anyone can help Hutch and we get a pass rush, as well as CJGJ in coverage our defense might go from bad to only kind of bad. And that might be enough.

I think Irvin is going to help a lot with pocket passers the rest of the year if he’s healthy

I’m looking forward to seeing what kind of impact he can have for our team. It’s another body that they can use to help the flailing passrush that we all want to see improve.

Trust me brother, I don’t have sugar plums dancing in my head when I dream of his return.

BTW…what the hell is fricken sugar plum??..off to the internets
