Lions considering left guard rotation for Week 1

Not a fan of guard rotations. If Bartch is actually better then start him. So difficult for an oline to gel with revolving guards series to series.

Last time we did that Patricia was coaching. Obese rocket scientist who can’t built a paper flying airplane type of stuff. :joy:

Good thing LG is next to Sewell

They’ve done this at a guard spot every year

Keeping the competition real imho

They probably think there are holes in his game. Or that he doesn’t do well with drills.

Really sounds like they want to start Bartch. (So do I.) If so, they should just do it. A rotation within the game? Bah.

I think Dan suggesting a rotation at LG was simply to emphasize that this week matters. It’s unlikely that there will be a rotation on gameday, IMO.

“Look, we are rotating!”

I certainly think it is more Mahogany needs to be sturdy and not drift during the plays. If he struggles and starts to split under the pressure than barth will come in as long as he is healthy.

I suppose at that point you ask yourself if mahogany is better off on the right side and if that supports the move of Tate to Center barring the health and performance of scruggs/mays

Then he could have said: the next couple days will matter and we’ll know the starter by Sunday.

But I agree it’s unlikely. Dan: “If nothing has been decided by [end of Friday], then maybe they both play”. Well, Dan, If “nothing is decided” before the game, it’s on YOU (and Hank).

This is a problem. It means they don’t have a good LG. And I don’t know how good Rat will be. Plus their FA C is out. This is last year all over again, but how good is Miller? Can he be as good as Decker?

Or Gil Howard is regularly kicking his ass.

From what I saw flashed from ratledge I don’t think he’s going to be a problem. Especially in the run game.

Tate was already solid as a rookie (esp. in run game), I dont believe he’ll be a weak link. Mahogany and Bartch may be a wash at the moment but both dont need to be elite next to #58. My biggest question mark at the moment is scruggs.

Bad news is that LG is also next to a 2nd string Center.
